I didn't use DX until version 2 betas, although I did try it before and liked Adam Solley's themes. Unfortnately they either didn't work right for me or I didn't find the theme useful for my needs. Currently I just use a mix of objects such as clock, calender, sys tray, meters that work for me, together with ObjectDock. I think the more people who create objects that can be used in any theme, or provide themed items separately instead of all put together would encourage more ppl to make a t

It is incredible how uninformed people are about things. Even when its in plain sight. I work in retail and get tons of stupid questions daily. They want to know how to run things, and never even bothered to read the instructions. Anyway back to what this thread is really about, I think the premise of a license is correct, just a poor metaphor to compare it to driving. Does everyone drive correctly even though they have a license? No! Plus you need policemen just to help keep people doi
I was at a Guster concert last night and they sang a Johnny Cash song "Burning Ring of Fire" as a tribute, that was first I heard that he had died. I didn't get into his music really, but he is a legend no doubt, and will be missed. John Ritter though was a big surprise to all I'm sure. He will live on as Jack Tripper though. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab
Right now SDC is not working completely with the Skins/Themes section. So you can't install from it atm from what I heard.
The only nitpick problem I have noticed is the state of the Recycle bin doesn't change to empty from full using IconX. I believe they know though about it, was fixed once, then broken again. Otherwise seems fairly stable.
Although with the skin browser it is easier, as it will with most downloads, install it into the proper directory. It can also apply it from there through the right click menu for some but not all programs. Its far easier to switch from skin to skin and library to library through the skinbrowser. Although you can only view one at a time in the main section for skins. Or you can use the built-in browser to view WinCustomize or other sites even. Also included in the SkinBrowser is a s
You might want to put your subject in better english next time, but I believe I understand it. You can do what you are asking with WB4.1 and load the lookalike Luna skin, and WB has a color change option where you can change the blue to red.
You only need to hit the "Submit" button once I just recently downloaded Camstudio, haven't used it yet except for a glimpse at it, but I believe it can do what you are asking.
I used to use a split connection on the output. Its not a box, but was simply a splitter of sorts but just wires. Plug it into where the line out jack is, plug the speakers in one side, and the headphones in the other. With my setup anyway, if I turned the volume switch on the headphones up, the speakers went down....... turn the headphones down and speakers were back up. I dont' believe it was a feature of the headphones either. Just need own volume control on the headphones. The splitt
Currently groving to Guster, Fountains of Wayne, Train But my musical tastes run from Shania Twain to Pink Floyd, Billy Joel to Aerosmith. I couldn't be pinned down to a genre, and I think if someone is stuck in one genre they are limiting themselves. Though I tend to stick to pop, rock, alternative, and a smattering of country/folk/other. I don't care for most rap or hip-hop, but everyone once in awhile a song in that genre catches my attention. Although I abhor Opera, pretty much ha
3D browsing is an interesting idea, but I think could be implemented best once Longhorn is on the scene according to early reports. I've tried 3D worlds, and they are interesting, but lack depth (of course being on 56k my viewpoint is skewed). I do like the ability to force thumbnails in the MB especially now that there can be images. Obviously ppl are supposed to keep them from being too large, but even a 640x480 image can take time to download on 56k if there are several of them.
lvl 7 19,645 on first try Its pretty cool. It suddenly ramps up in difficulty though at level 6, otherwise seemed easy lol.
hehe Koasoti, a post like this is one way to wring out info of upcoming changes/additions. It shows you guys have noticed the lack of activity and sometimes crossover posts and are taking action. This additional board isn't really that old anyway and some habits die hard, so I'm sure it will pick up. Although I also think many use the NG's for help instead of here. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/sm
You could go to https://www.stardock.com/support/ and type in your email. It will send you all pertinant links and/or serials you should need. It will include updated links if programs have been updated and you are eligible.
It depends if ppl hit refresh on the WC Skinbrowser and/or SDC for one thing. Also I believe the webpage defaults to the main message board, and due to the configuration of WC's message boards, it isn't exactly evident there is more than one heading available. They are listed up top, but most boards have a folder type heirarchy. I'm not saying the board setup is bad, just different enough that I would guess many don't bother checking out the other sections. Of course maybe they don't n
How could you not pick Adam Vinitieri as a PK? He's definitely one of the top 8. Of course I'm bias to a certain New England team anyway lol. A team I feel isn't dominated by many top performers, but as a whole can beat any team.
Until I got my Wincustomize subscription I almost never used the message board. I couldn't stand it. It was scruched up and topics didn't stand out IMO. It is certainly unlike any other message board I go to, most do not have links to anything else related to the site, at least not as much as WC does. I think its an improvement, but still not as nice visually to read as in the Skinbrowser or SDC. <img
Odd I haven't noticed any drop in performance with the weather docklet. I haven't bothered with the clock since I prefer the implementation I have through DX2.
I was a diehard MyIE2 fan for quite awhile, but recently switched to Firebird. Have to download a couple extensions to equal what MyIE2 comes with, but I find it a touch faster. But speed isn't why I switched, just wanted to get away from IE. MS isn't interested in working on it (except burying it in the OS) so why should we use it when there are others making better browsers with useful features? Anything based on IE still has IE at its core. <A HREF="https://www.wincus
Very nice. WB needed some positive press. Not that those of us who use it ever doubted its greatness, those on the fence now have a good reason to jump off (or jump in)
I'm certainly one who is using DX2 who didn't bother with the earlier DX. I think most are waiting to release more objects and themes until DX2 is final. There is a potential that some things won't work otherwise. DX2 is an excellent addition to any desktop.
I haven't delved into everything that has been added, but certainly am pleased with the docklets. Personally I don't care about the tray part, since I use desktopx for that, although I realize many want that feature added. Its a much nicer appearance than that bloody boring taskbar. </A
Did you uninstall DX 1.3 , then reboot, then install DX 1.99? That is a reccommended course of action.
I looked at it, and its not the monitor. If that look though is any indication of some of the changes to the GUI then I am curious what the point of that is. It does get away from having a straight line, and therefore being more stylish, but does it serve a purpose?
One peice of advice would be to upgrade to the latest beta version of DX2, which is 1.99g. It should fix any issues you are having. Though not sure why you are having problems since that version should support the objects you are trying.
