Which is the fastest browser?

Netscape? so there is really somebody using it? seriously: get Mozilla or even better Mozilla Firebird. and the fastest is Opera (payware though).

I,Seriously-Seriously-Seriously am Hooked on Opera.It is just unbelievable.You should go check out their skin werk,,dun it iz phat.No kidding jtb,,Opera is worth every penny.The settings in Opera can either make it the fastest browser on earth or not.I have mine wide open except fer pop ups,and it screamz.Everywhere but DevART.I haven't found any browser fast there here of late.Ya' can't lose when you can get MyIE2 for free or Avant,Green,Crazy,Mozzzila/Firebird,i.e. not IE engine.Opera is an Internet phreakz dream.Jump out there on a beta homeeeeeeeee,,,,

and,,no matter what you tell yer machine,,if you click the link on the previous post and can get it to come up in anything but Ole non-tabbed IE,,please let me know how to do it.

I personally use MOzilla, but it's not because of the speed. I think testing Browser speed is for the most part oa thing of the past. Features are the important thing now and Mozilla just beats teh heck out of IE when It comes to that ; the most important being popup blocking and Tabs. Yes I know taht there are some IE based browsers that can do the same but I have gotten used to Moz and I likes it...

I hjaven't seen any IE plug ins that allows EI to have tabs...

But for me with Netscape it is all the features including the tabs and pop up killer. I can also white list sites for pop ups which is cool.

I heard and read that Opera is a dream come true. I might get it for some friends of mine for X-mas

I think I should give Firebird a try and see how it runs on my win98 system.

I was a diehard MyIE2 fan for quite awhile, but recently switched to Firebird. Have to download a couple extensions to equal what MyIE2 comes with, but I find it a touch faster. But speed isn't why I switched, just wanted to get away from IE. MS isn't interested in working on it (except burying it in the OS) so why should we use it when there are others making better browsers with useful features?
Anything based on IE still has IE at its core.

There iz something out there that claims to make tabz an option for IE,I installed it but could not find it on the toolbar after I did.I can't remember the name,,,,,wait--------Microgarden,i Think.If anyone else has used this with success please post something here so I will know itz me or WindowsBlindz users.Be careful with MyIE2 as well for the latest version,with MyIE2 skin applied will freak WB out.

I use Opera and like Brazil said it screamz. Wouldn't go back to IE or Netscape now

I use IE 6. As long as I have my DSL (256 Kbps) who cares about speed as long as I get to come here everyday?

Opera, though I have had a number of them in the past, it is the best in my opinion so far. Mazillia.Firebird is pretty good as far as it goes, Koa pointed it out to me early this morning and I installed it for about 15 minutes to play around with.

FastBrowser is nice also and also the one that was posted and unposted a month or so back looked interesting. But they had a serious problem with ripping TT's work which is plain crap and enough of a thing to keep it from ever hitting my hard drive again...

I was just curious. I choose not to skin anything on my computer or use any other browser but IE. Maybe I am old fashioned.

If you can get by no the flimsy,non-tabbed,Fisher-Price look Microsoft IE then more power to ya' homeeeeeeeeeeee,,,,,,,That means more Opera for me,,arar,hehe.

The biggest problem with IE is security risks. If you run IE you have to constantly watch for new ActiveX controls and stuff that adds spyware to your computer, also running something like SpyBot becomes an almost daily exercise to keep everything running smoothly. Flash also stopped working for me in IE at home and at work months ago with no fix seemingly possible other than Format. Eh. I've stopped using IE permantly as of about 3 months ago and use Firebird exclusive but have been meaning to try out Opera again.

ah but due to the fact that the ebay toolbar only works on IE I am having to use IE. I do ALOT of selling/buying on ebay!

Too bad the ebay toolbar is one of those exact pieces of Spyware I mentioned.

Sorry if it's a little off topic, but I tried Opera and I mostly like it. Just one thing bugs me though. One feature I like the most about MyIE/Avant Browser, is the one button "Allow/Block Pop ups". Push the button and it blocks the popups, push it again and it allows it. I use that feature a lot because I usually block them but some on some sites they are necessary. Is there a way in Opera to customize the toolbar to add such a button? I know you can do it from the menu, but it's not as easy. Any Opera fan can anser that?

Paxx not sure about your ? as i use Zone Alarm Pro and can block or unblock pop ups easy but i will look into it for you.

Another diehard MyIE2 user here........ but due to some of the comments in this thread,  I tried out Opera, and Firebird .

Opera, you can have it ............ it just doesn't feel right......
