I typically run Windowblinds, DesktopX, ObjectDock, CursorXP, Icon Packager and Keyboard Launchpad. I have only a few mostly static objects on DX and the CPU rarely goes past 4%. Even when running a few programs it might spike to 10% at times. I don't find it affects performance at all. Of course as mentioned above WindowsFX or having more animated objects in DX can affect things on pretty much any machine. But overall you will only know you are running these programs because of the added f

Interesting note though is that Winamp5 uses the same skinning engine as 3 it appears. Or at the very least it can implement those skins since I am using an alpha of WA5. So once it goes beta you'll probably start to see more skins again.

Even though I have been against this addition, I am willing to give it a look. I like Stardocks approach to it. Even though I hardly see the bootscreen, if a change to it can be made without affecting how the computer runs, well I'm all for it. Plus who says you have to use it.

I thought the logo already changed some depending on which theme you chose for Wincustomize. I think it makes sense to have different ones that match a theme you choose for the pages. Otherwise I don't see the need to change it every day or even every month. Usually logos are something a company uses with consistancy to help build brand loyalty. Changing logos all the time confuses the customer. <img src="

I fully support the Patriots even though I don't think they will make it back this year, but could slide into a playoff spot. However I think the Colts are the real thing this year, especially after that amazing comeback win over the Bucs Monday night. Could be a re-match in the Super Bowl. </A

MMJB has its own skinning engine, and I have seen WB bleed through a couple times, but I don't believe that is the issue. I think I may have jumped the gun thinking it related to DX. I hadn't thought before that it could be the a/v program I have only been using for about a month. I am going to delete MMJB from my computer and reinstall, that perhaps will help clear up whatever got corrupted. In the meantime I found CDex which works well enough for ripping if I should need it.

I'm not entirely sure if this is connected to Stardock products, but seeing first if I'm alone in this problem. I use MMJB and it always ran fine. Now though it opens and shortly thereafter it closes. I believe the problems started when I began to use DX2 betas. At first though I didn't notice a connection as I only use MMJB to burn or rip, so don't use it that often. However shutting down DX didn't make a difference in MMJB's performance. I also use Objectdock and Windowblinds (excluded M

I've seen a couple requests for features to make it a more feature filled browser. I don't think Stardock wishes to head in that direction, although I certainly don't speak for them. I believe the purpose was to have the browser in there for a convenience. I think the better route would be to someone make it possible for the skinbrowser to be a plugin or extension that can add itself to a full-time browser such as Firebird. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd

Now the poll has reappeared concerning this type of "skin" or adding other sections. So far it seems bootscreens are winning, which I think is unfortunate. Why skin something you rarely see? Sure there are other sections on here that are of no use to me, but on XP you don't need to boot that often, and the screen doesn't show for long anyhow. Wouldn't it be more useful to have a section for something ppl use a lot? It was mentioned that there is a logon section, so why not a bootscreen se

Firebird all the way. I used to be solidly in the IE camp, even used MYIE2 for quite some time, but I have found Firebird to be much stabler, and off much more capabilities. I can add them as I need them and am not "stuck" with whatever features are in the main client. To be sure MYIE2 does support plugins, but I have never seen many available. To be sure Firebird at this stage may require a little digging and script altering to get the added benefits, but it is in beta. Opera is a fi

Its only $10 now, but even so I am wondering why someone can post something on Wincustomize and get money from it. I thought all postings were free. It certainly doesn't mention where you download the docklet that it is shareware.

Someone provided a fixed dll on the objectdock newsgroup. Its not an official one though. I'm not sure why it hasn't been picked up by Stardock to distribute. But my weather docklet works just fine now.

People who like typing in all caps must be lazy since they don't wish to be bothered in hitting the shift key to type like "normal" . Although there is nothing wrong with typing in all lower case, yet hardly anyone does. I do agree though that education should come first when it comes to someone not following netiquette. It is entirely possible this person hasn't been online very long and/or is underage. Just as we don't know where everyone is from unless we ask, its the same with ag
