I fully support the Patriots even though I don't think they will make it back this year, but could slide into a playoff spot. However I think the Colts are the real thing this year, especially after that amazing comeback win over the Bucs Monday night. Could be a re-match in the Super Bowl.

The Packers! They started slow, but they are gradually showing who they really are. They'll move far this year, but I don't expect them to get in the Superbowl. Dallas is surprisingly doing great right now. The Bucs will be in the Superbowl again (despite their CRAZY game last night.) Their D is just too awesome.

I love Football! I guess my favorite team would be the 49ers, but I don't really like teams anymore. I'm all about stats! I know pretty much everything there is to know about who's hot, who's not, who plays good against who, who puts up numbers, who doesnt. You see, I got this online fantasy football thing and it tracks player stats not team wins and losses, so you know...gotta keep up or else you lose. For instance, I just picked up Dante Hall, he's broken all sorts of records this year and he only played 4 games. He might be the best kick returner ever. Look for him, he's on the Kansas City Chiefs, which by the way is my pick for the Super Bowl, as long as Priest Holmes stays healthy...

Everyone knows the best team is the Redskins. They just have an unfortunate mix of players and coach right now...

They have no A-list quarterback and a weak running game. Laverneus Coles is an excellent receiver though. But technically speaking, they are not the best team (as of right now).

On a side note, I was born in South Africa, so technically I have roots in both Cricket and Rugby, but moved to the US when I was 10. So I barely even knew what that stuff was when I left...

Chris...nah, I just hate Aussie Rules.....these days the 'bloodsport' is gone.....back in VFL times the players had bigger balls which got kicked more often than the Sherrin....

Aussie Rules is fun. What other game in the world can you kick the you know what out of somebody and still win the foul

That's pretty much par-for-the-course in all other contact sports too... NRL's the same, and rugby. Too many zoom lenses and tribunal by video after the fact.

Dunno about ice hockey tho' don't get to see it much let alone check it's progress over the years.

I am glad to see the Bucs did well last year and all, but honestly I like the Steelers and Packers of old, say later 60's early 70's. Today, mmm, Raiders and would like to see the Buc's do well for a period of time. Not even win the Bowl, but do well instead of looking like a bunch of cross eyed idiots with tar on the shoes, grease on their hands and sand between their ears.

So... can anyone explain the rules of Gridiron in a couple of sentences - I'm guessing it's got to do with getting the ball to one end of the field and when that happens you get abou thte same # of points as the guy does backflips?

Chris...it's much like Rugby...but through the process of arms escalation [shades of Cold War panic], helmets were used for protection which necessitated body-armour use to protect from the helmets......whereas in Rugby they get by with taping their ears back so they don't get ripped off....

Well, you take the football, but only the Kicker can realy put his foot on it as a means of play, everyone else has to carry or throw it. The rest of it is as Jafo says, Rugby but for girls
