Certainly it is a skin that would be in demand I believe considering how many wanted the Plex one made. Although overall I think the slate is rather drab, it would be nice to see one.
Yup even though SDC added ability to view skins/themes I only use it for program downloads. Mainly the discussions don't work right for me in SDC and I don't check daily to see if there are program updates anyway. More interested in skin updates.
Its supposed to play cd's. I haven't really used ObjectMedia much yet, but it doesn't see the files on the cd's as I have just observed. A rather odd behavoir since it says it can play cd's AFAIK.
WOW. It is happening here also. Although it clears up if you stop the right click, and then do the right click again. But keeping it open and going into New... and off of New.. and back with the menu still open, you get a bigger and bigger menu, duplicating entries. Nice catch. For links in the skinbrowser I have to right click, choose copy link location.... then firebird gets it from the clipboard and loads the link. Just doesn't work with a direct click for some reason.

Slate is not Aero. I don't think anyone has seen Aero, or at least no screenshots have shown up. I think Slate is better than Plex since it moves away from everything being blue, but it is rather dull even so.
Overall programs follow a basic format. Titlebar with min, max, close. Menubar. Program window. Status bar. To be sure there are programs that don't follow this, but what Frogboy is saying is that programs wouldn't have to follow this standardized approach and so wacky could be the norm. For those of us who like to customize its not so bad, but there are still many more people who find it hard enough to use a computer, so keeping things somewhat standardized helps them. I am watchi

Kkmenu is currently the only menuing system I have heard of for OD. There is a shareware version you can get from their website that does more than the free one. Many swear by it, but I couldn't get it to work satisfactorily. Not to mention the help for it is non-existant. I saw those but am not interested in trying them. The screenshots don't tell me what it really does, nor does the description. If they are .exe files like you said then they are even more bewildering. Besides I don't really have a use for docklets that control winamp for example, though someone might I admit. Odd you say that random doesn't work for you. I have it set to random logons and never have a problem. I do agree that support for other formats including animation or sound would be a nice addition.

KkMenu includes a docklet I believe for system tray support in OD. Or you can use Objectbar or DesktopX to use provide a system tray object. These are the only alternatives currently available that I know.
It doesn't appear like you can. If I read you correctly you want like download windows for firebird to show up differently than the main program. I can't see how it can recognize them differently. I have a similar issue with Trillian, different people, same IM and can't tell who is who. Although I generally "Alt+Tab" anyway so its not that big a deal. Of course even doing that I can't tell who is who until it highlights the selection. Its how things are setup. <A HREF=

Soon hopefully here. There seems to be very little new skins for Trillian, even with 2.0 recently out. Hopefully we'll get more skins soon as I haven't found one I really like yet, just a couple that I manage to use.
I'm very excited about the progress animations. They always look so out of place in many skins, since they aren't skinned you see the blocky outlines of them. And anytime you can make WB even more frugal with memory its a good thing even though it is already very good.
grayhaze mentions that Smith was "reborn" due to him being a "backup" copy. Ok if that is true, then how does he possess new powers? Perhaps without knowing it Neo affected a change to the backup immediately, because in a sense he had Smith inside him.

I don't think that's possible. Or at least not easy if it is possible. It would require too much coding I think, so makes sense to just use Trillian. Something on the idea of EZPop is possible I believe, just on its own, not interacting with Ezpop. You can download all the themes you want, just can't use them without having DesktopX. You can't play a PS2 game without having a PS2 can you? I didn't think so.
Just for those who may not know, there is a typo in the news above.... its version 4.2 of Windowblinds that has the toolbar support, not 3.2 Even though I haven't been too thrilled about boot screens, certainly if the program does as Stardock claims, it sounds like a easy thing to add and change just one more thing with windows. Once you start using these programs you'll never go back to boring regular Windows again. This is well worth the price. I might even have the new CD sent to me, since I never got one before when I ordered. It isn't a must have, but couldn't hurt.
I do find it surprising that they still focus on 3 so much. Although I guess to switch and focus on 2 until 5 becomes reality wouldn't make sense either. It could be that since 3 went so bad they are taking it slowly introducing 5. Still you'd think some mention would be there on the site.

When I first saw the topic I wondered where this person has been for the last year or so, Winamp3 has been out for awhile and its awful. I've been using Winamp5 since the alpha leak, and now use the beta, and it works like a charm.
