Need to tell us which version of DX you are attempting to run. It is possible the theme you are attempting to use doesn't work with the version of DX you have. Of course if it isn't even loading the default theme could mean something else.

I have a resolution of 1280x1024 but never maximize my windows as I like to keep some things always visible, and most sites fit nicely in a smaller window. So your screenshots do nicely showoff everything that is part of your skins, but they do require far too much scrolling I think. One shot should be enough and then a good explaination. And you have the newest version of Winstyles/Theme Manager? I haven't really used this program yet, but I think it only shows the programs it can do that you own. Simply download ObjectDock and install (its free anyway) and then it show up.

I still feel this problem continues to manifest itself because Wincustomize has a different looking message board than you find elsewhere. People who are new to the site cannot as easily tell that there are sections. It appears at the top of the website as just subjects that are allowed, not separate boards. Actually you can right click on objects to delete them. It works well on most objects. I have found it doesn't with some objects like the snowflakes or remote control car. Winstyles is now Theme Manager. In Xp its located under the "Suites" tab. In the settings for Theme Manager make sure you have "Objectdock" checked under Load on Applying Skin
If its an "Olympics" then why is the contest only in one category? Perhaps a media category (all media players) and/or a Shell replacement type category(which includes DX not a shell really). I just think it would be more interesting to see what would come out of it in different categories. Of course probably can't expand it too much since the prizes would get a bit costly. Its a program, not a subscription. So in its current state it works as long as you own it. However if its updated that is likely not included.
It is strange that someone who comes to a skinning site doesn't like skinning, then why are you here? I often keep winamp hidden or minimized so the skin doesn't matter too much to me, but still I don't like things to be drab. But skinning aside winamp is faster than musicmatch. I never liked the default WA skin before, but with this new default modern skin it works much better for me. I like how it can do notifications of the song played similiar to sign-ons with IM clients. I have had it crash a couple times which didn't happen for me with even the alpha version of 5, so hopefully it doesn't continue. I love winamp again! I have used this version since it was in alpha and it is everything that 3 should have been. In fact it has something I have been missing from winamp's previous incarnations. It has to be put in the skin, but it has the ability to do notification. It nicely displaces the info about the song in a little box and that gradually disappears in about 10 seconds. There were a couple of them available when DX2 was in development. I didn't have luck with either of them working 100%. Although many said they did work fine.
I wish there were more skins available for WA3/5. I like the freeform abilities, but so far haven't found a skin that I like. Often skinners put that shiny glass look on the readout and it makes it look nice, but awful to try and read. Generally I only keep a slim bar of it going so a skin isn't crucial, just they seem too artsy. Oh well guess I can't complain too much since I don't make skins hehe. <img s
I personally haven't noticed any issues with it. The links work. However for me since I visit the site on a regular basis, the "news" in it is old for me lol. Still at least once an issue there is something new for me to check out.
