Disapointed and used.

I bought numerous of your subscrptions over the last twelve months, under the agreement that they would be available for download through wincustomize. Then sudenly last week after downloading two to five skins or whatever I got cut off and keep aking to register, which is what I thought I did when I spent my money on your service. So I registered. Then the same thing happened again and I used my registration info and it was not accepted. This has happened seven times and I am fed up. I paid you so that I could get acces to this stuff now it seems there is a new imposed limit that was not there before. If my registration is not taken care of I will contact my lawyer and contact the BBB and make sure you don't do this to anyone else.

Shame on you.

er.... did you cross reference your account?
If you didn't, go to "edit account" https://www.wincustomize.com/editaccount.asp There will be a link called "Cross-reference my account". And there is always e-mail. Stardock is extremely responsive to e-mails. Stardock and WinCustomize have nothing to be ashamed of, neither are they sheisters. If you have a problem, all you have to do is mention it and they go out of their way to help.

...threats get you no where...

end user error is not grounds for a law suit by the way...

Nick: treplev
UserID: 790239....sounds like a new WC subscription to me

Think you should lose the attitude and use Stardock Support as Eric suggested.

Have a nice day

treplev,

Because you bought a subscription you should not have anything holding you back to download.
As far as I can tell from your story, the problem is at your side.
If it says you need to register it is probably something with your cookies, try killing them and login again... should fix it.

Let me know if this has worked

That statement makes little sense. A single subscription at this point in time is good for unlimited downloads for 2 years. Why would you buy numerous subscriptions over a 12 month period?

under the agreement that they would be available for download through wincustomize.

What exactly does that mean? What is the "they" that would be available?

As has been stated already, the problem you're having is most likely caused on your end, and you need to cool it with the attitude. WC does not run a scam. Your threats are unnecessary.

Try the suggestions made above, and if you're still having problems, come back to this thread and nicely ask for assistance. Otherwise contact [email protected]

Shame on you.

If this is the case, wouldn't they have multi registration numbers? Now just curious, if they cross-reference all of them, do they add up? If above statement is true? It's a curious question that came to mind.

I don't know how to highlight the "I brought numerous...." but it sounds to me that he hacked numerous registrations and got caught and now he is complaining. And issuing threats in attempt to scare someone into making his account legitimate. Then, since it wasn't a legitimate account, the download limit went into effect. It makes sense to me. Because, it doesn't make sense for a legitimate customer to openly and publicly threaten the dealer of material that they obviously enjoy over what seems to be a first problem. Just my opinion of course. 85% sure, I'm right though.

No, cracked serial numbers should not be an isse without a doubt because all that has to take place is for the application which generates the Real numbers should do is create a trackable key to use against user side entered keys.... pulic encryption of sorts...

and there is not anyone who could get around it unless they had MIT's computer lab to put to the task and the time to do it...

ChasUGC, Just highlight on his post "I bought numerous..." by holding left-click. After that press 'Q' in the bottom left of the post. It will put his Quote into your post.

I think the TGT issue is contagious

BTW Treplev, IF you indeed purchased a subscription, an email with the information and instructions about the item and Stardock's information should be stated there. It would have been much clever to call or email them rather than purchasing 'numerous' subscriptions and posting threats in the message board

I love hearing people say "contact my lawyer". It makes it *immediately* obvious they don't have one. If it is a small claims civil action ( i.e. a lot more than is in question here ) you don't even need a lawyer.

People who say crap like that have never really paid $200+ per hour to a shyster. In this case I hope the person does call him, so that the lawyer can charge a fee just to advise him to contact Stardock customer support.

My guess will be that he bought various programs (One by One) and not various subscriptions, and it also sounds as though his IP is actually cutting out (due probably to a dial-up connection) either way there should be no recourse to contact his lawyers (who are possibly Money, Grabbit & Run), I think he should check out his system before complaining, and then only to Stardock support.

This person is obviously confused about what a subscription means. I should think also if one didn't work right, you'd find out why first before buying more. That is downright stupid.
Also it never is mentioned if you attempted to "login" to the site. Subscribing isn't enough, you have to login to the site also.
Some people are so quick to blame someone else when its really their own fault.

bakerstreet illustrates that this is a threat with no backing making it quite a useless waste of wincustomize's wonderful messageboard

"I got cut off and keep aking to register, which is what I thought I did when I spent my money on your service. So I registered."

Buying a subscription to WC or OD(if that's what you did) doesn't automatically register you on the WC site. That you have to do for yourself, using the same email address and info as for the WC or OD subscription. See GM's link above for cross referencing accounts for those who purchased WC and/or Stardock apps, subscriptions. Also, as mentioned, sometimes people experience a cookie glitch which logging out and then deleting all WC cookies and logging in again usually solves.

Then if you still have a problem, contact Stardock support directly via email so they can sort it out, which apparently you haven't done. Far more effective than posting on the messageboard showing that apparently you didn't know what you were doing, suggesting wrongdoing on WC's/SD's part and making threats of legal action when apparently you haven't contacted Stardock support directly for assistance prior to this post.

Since it's the holidays and it looks like SD gives its employees a nice holiday vacation, you might not get a response till after the holiday break. Perhaps in the interim someone from SD with access to your info might cruise by the board and be able to sort out the issue on their own time.
