it's amazing to me that people have the intestinal fortitude to try things like this.. I personally don't fancy the idea of spending time in jail just to get some free computer parts.. I guess it's worth the risk to some.

I believe the shellstyles support eludes to the resources such as the logon, logoff and shutdown screens as well as the Common Tasks section in explorer windows. This may also include the Control Panel images but I'm not positive, I'm trying to remember what wasn't skinned before the addition of shellstyle skinning was added to WB.. HTH!

hmmmm, I've never had that problem myself and I've added shortcuts to most of those. Have you tried right-clicking on the shortcut and checking the "Start In" entry on the Properties for the shortcut? HTH, [Message Edited]

Just a comment on some suggestions I've seen made more than once and it concerns me a bit. People keep saying no membership without "valid ISP" e-mail address. My question is how are you going to determine what is a "valid" ISP e-mail? I happen to have SBC Yahoo DSL which means that my main e-mail address is an @yahoo.com address but it really works just like any other ISP address. Hus, sounds good!! I'd definitely say he will notice a huuuuuuge difference if he is currently working on something that slow. I would however agree with Kona on the XP Pro, it has more networking options if he decides to setup a home network or something down the road. If I'm not mistaken you can find XP Pro OEN on-line for arount $100. I'll see what I can find and post here if I find anything really good..

Wow!!! I think that's a great setup.. What is he currently running? A general rule as far as noticable performance increase is that unless he is doubling his CPU speed he probably won't notice a huge difference. WMP skins itself so you really should exclude it from WB anyway. Any program with custom skinning like WMP or WA really won't work well with WB trying to skin them. HTH

OK, I'm with ya.. Anyway, it seems like this may all be moot as the subscription drive looks as if it's going pretty good. almost half-way there and close to half-way through the month. Hopefully more people will step up. I'd really hate to have to go back to DA, their color scheme gives me a headache and I really can't read someportions of their site because of the colors. paxx, actually it seemed to me that you were suggesting that all users with access level less than Apprentice (I think) should have to wait. Also, I absolutely think that non-members should be SEVERLY restricted in what they are able to do, but I don't think that SD customers should be considered non-members.. Here's an idea.
