hell half the price is that flat screen and it is not going to come anywhere near the same quality display of graphics that a CRT will have

You know, you can pick up an NEC, Sony, MAG, Princton Graphics or ViewSonice 20 inch displayable CRT for $700.00 or less now? I mean top of the line Graphics CRT's not home owner monitors, but design monitors...

Also, if you're buying that from DELL you might want to consider getting the RAM from www.crucial.com.. Unless you are getting a buy 512MB get 512MB free deal DELL LOVELS to charge extremely high prices for their RAM.. As far as the monitor check out the Sony GDM-FW900, I have it and it's a great monitor!

Sorry for the slow response but work can be a demanding mistress.. IP is correct it's a 24" monitor and it is sooooooo nice!! I'm currently running 1920X1200 @ 85 Hz on this monitor.. Enjoy, I know you will!!!

I still say go to the dell outlet and purchase refurb. best quality less than half the price.

I say you should build one. You definitely can build a better one cheaper plus upgradeable. If I had that money at hand, I certaintly wouldn't buy a Dell.

I was just trying to help out some. I wouldn't buy a Dell, when you could build one cheaper, upgradeable and better for less. Especially in that price range. And Dell support is like any other support if you know what I mean Better off going to a (this) forum.

You also might want to wait till PCI Exprees becomes the new standard and replaces AGP8X. Like DesignCaddy said, there is also the 64bit processors.

maybe beause of the TRW on site and drop shipment support with total system swap if it needs to be sent into the shop? unless that isn't included in the price?
