Achievements are awesome. I was already a completionist when I played games - wanting to beat every aspect of them, on every difficulty. Now that there are achievements in every game too, it adds a second layer of replayability for me. By the way Trent, I still have more points than you. haha.

This is a minimum requirement of the game. As Kryo says in reply #11, just because you can install directX 9.0c doesn't mean that your card is capable of using all of its features. The feature we rely on is something called Pixel Shader 2.0. If you look a

No worries man, we can help you out. If you bought the game digitally, then you would have gotten an email with your registration number (the download number you are referring to). In that email it should also mention our downloading program, Impulse. You'll need to download Impulse (its free), and then it'll allow you to register games and download them. You can also use it to keep your registered games current with the latest free updates. Here's the link t

The 30GB is probably how much room you have on your harddrive. The 512MB memory requirement is not referring to space on your harddrive, but how much actual memory (RAM) your PC has. You can view how much RAM you have by going to Start->Control Panel->System. The minimum RAM requirement for the game is 512MB, which is what the message box you are getting was indicating. The retail disc installer will prevent installation if you do not meet this requiremen

In a situation like that, I would try uninstalling the game completely, deleting it's "my documents/my games/polmachine2008" folder, and restarting my pc. Then I would reinstall the game, restart the pc again, and then try to run the game. Post here if that works or not. An

RobotHive, The game you bought is Political Machine, which was developed by Stardock and published by Ubisoft. It came out in 2004. Since UbiSoft was the publisher, they determined how people got updates. Our newest game is called Political Machine 2008. We developed and published it ourselves this time and all updates for it can be obtained by using Impulse (our replacement for Stardock Central). I just wanted to point that out, in case you weren't a

Ok Jemms39, that problem sounds like it could be caused by older display drivers. Since yours are from 2006, you'll most likely be able to find updates via intel's website. If after installing new drivers, (and restarting your pc), the game still gives you trouble, repost your debug.err file for us and we'll go from there. The debug.err gets overwritten each time you run the game, so we'll want to see the newest one if you are still having issues.
the how to was written in june.
His question was about how to open ports, which the How-To covers.
as far as lan games go i think the updates have renedered that "out of date". For example: the line "If you're playing on a LAN, the player who will host the game should click on the LAN checkbox up near the server address and click on Yes when the prompt comes up asking if he wants to run the LAN server." doesn't seem to apply. there is no lan check box.......
