Instead of waiting for the game to be digitally distributed on Impulse, why not buy it from paradox via it's gamersgate? Cool. Glad to hear that more companies are starting to sign on. Awesome work, Impulse guys!
Now you just need to convince Shrapnelgames to publish their catalogue via Impulse as well
if you guys have ideas for more companies, it's cool to tell us at Stardock about it, but you should also go to the forums of those companies and let them know about Impulse there too. I can't hurt. The more we spread the word, the better!
we’re going with the approach that Valve pioneered
Blah. That's crap. Stardock was doing it first.
I almost never play games like these online.
GalCiv2 doesn't have online multiplayer. + You play against the AI in the campaign. Each expansion pack also has a campaign. + You can play custom game against any number of AI opponents and a bunch of other settings you can tweak. + You can also play a "metaverse" game which is basically a single player game where you finish it and then post your score to an online leaderboard.&nb
What specific error are you getting and when does it occur? The more details you can provide, the more likely we'll be able to give you quick instructions that lead to a fix of the problem.
awesome thread topic ID. Great work gathering all that info from the various places. I'm guessing by Spartan's comment that there are some others that have come out since you created the post...
I think it should be on a sticker right above the CD. Inside the case. To enter it in Impulse, open Impulse and click on the Blue Orb button in the upper left hand corner and choose Register a Product.. Then press the "Add Registration" button on the page that comes up.
Interviews are not in multiplayer, only when you play against the AI. So that is probably the issue. To play against the AI, create a match, choose your world settings and character, and then on the next screen you can either wait for someone to join or you can check the box for "Play against AI". Check that box and start the match. It should have interviews in it. Hope that helps.
Hrmm weird.. What version of the game are you running? If you don't know, you can find out by reading the first line of the Debug.err file (which can be opened with notepad). The file will be located here: "documents/my games/PolMachine2008/Debug.err". Replace "PolMachine2008" with "TPM2008Express" if you are playing the Express version. It will also show the version number in the bottom right hand corner when you run the game, but I'm not sure if it ha
I usually buy my games from GameStop because they have a large selection. But I only buy new copies of games that have been out for a while, so they are cheaper. I've also bought from stores such as Meijer, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc... I'm basically a sucker for a game that costs less than $20 when it used to retail for $50-$60 plus. Even when I buy my games from GameStop though, I always buy a NEW copy. Not a USED copy. I do this because the only pe
I agree though, they need an icon in the upper right corner. Show off what you earned. Hell list it in the impulse store too.
I was just thinking this yesterday when all the threads to GOTY polls started popping up. We could have an "Awards" section on each product page that only shows up if there are awards to display. GC2 and it's expansions would have quite a list. :) Now Sins too! It might also be nice to show the game's Metacritic rating
It's always been unbelievable to me how well the "Sims" games sell. I just don't get the appeal.
Best New IP is hardly something you can give to Sins - we don't have any actual backstory. Giving an award for what might be there is asinine.
I'm not sure how you can say that. A backstory has nothing to do with whether or not something is a new Intellectual Property. It's an award for best new game that is not a sequel.
Awesome news!
Maybe some people should repeatedly ask the guys at Ubi to put their games up on Impulse. And to use Stardock's simple "register-serial-and-download-the-game" method and nothing else. Wouldn't that be something?
yeah, should be TBS and RTS categories.
shoulda probably mentioned that Twilight of the Arnor is also in the running.
I'm not sure what you mean... IslandDog already said Sins and GC2: TA are up for Strategy game of the year.
Lucky us, we still have Hockey... in HD, widescreen, pucks in the net.
mmmmmmm, HD hockey. (drools)
Came out on Impulse on November 10th: http://impulsedriven.com/worldgoo
Cool. Hopefully a lot of people show up to hear what he has to say. Also, it'll help get the Stardock name out, which is always nice.
So I was a few days late to the parade, but I did end up getting the Xbox 360 update (New Xbox Experience, or NXE). I got it like 3 days after it's launch of November 19th. It downloaded pretty fast, installed quickly, and the changes that it brings are pretty cool. One of the more popular c
I'm the dude with the coke in his hand, standing with CariElf and CodeCritter (Jesse). Yeah yeah, I know, I didn't dress up. My bad.
There were quite a few Stardockians that worked on Sins actually. Several artists provided and/or tweaked assets. Brad and Yarlen (and others) significantly shaped the game that shipped. Check the credits in the manual to see a list of all the Stardock employees that contributed enough to have their name put there. That many people do not get credited just because Stardock was the publisher.
If we could see the contents of your debug.err file then we might be able to track down the issue. The file is located at "documents/my games/polMachine2008/debug.err" and can be opened with notepad. Copy the entire contents of that file and Paste into your reply and we'll take a look at it.
