Hey OfficeSupplies, PM2008 requires a graphics card that is compatible with DirectX 9.0 or higher. This is listed as a minimum requirement on the back of the box. The reason for this requirement is because we use something called Pixel Shader 2.0 in the game. According to the ATI graphics card comparison listed here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_

A white screen usually means your video card is not new enough to run the game. But just to be sure, can you post the contents of your debug.err file. The file can be opened with notepad and is located here: "documents/my games/polmachine2008/debug.err". The file will have system specs as well as game messages.

yeah, that's the confusing part for most users. You can install any version of DirectX you like, it's just a matter of whether or not your video card is capable of using all of it's features.
why isn't that included on the requirements page? I checked the requirements and I meet all of the standards
The game requires a DirectX 9.0c compatible card. It does say that on the back of the box. Pixel shader 2.0 was introduced when DirectX 9.0 came out. As I've already pointed out, your card is older than that. By not having a card that supports pixel shader 2.0, you also don't have a DirectX 9.0 c compatible card, as indicat
Chip Type: Intel® 82865G Graphics Controller
hey Marty, The game requires a video card capable of pixel shader 2.0. According to intel's site (http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-014257.htm), your card does not meet that minimum requirement. You should look into getting a newer video card, if you can. If you play a "Quick Play" game, then the very first screen will allow you to set the difficulty and player name. If you are playing "Multiplayer" there is no difficulty setting, since you'll be playing against another human. You can set your name though. If you are playing "Campaign Play" the difficulty is determined by how far up the ladder you have made it. It starts off easy and gets harder the further along you get. It uses the player name that is alread
