Some thoughts: A consistent look and feel for all the components configuration windows. Pull more of the components together with simple on/off toggles for the bits you do/don't want. Consistent skinning (one setting affects all) across as many components as possible. Another vote for PNG format / alpha blending for RightClick An ObjectDock Docklet for SVD (oops sorry, ObjectDock strikes again)

Another piece of oddness - with a picture ... As you can sort of see - the icons are in the fence but not in the fence. They scroll with the scrollbar but aren't clipped to edges of the fence. They also do not vanish with the double-click although they are not marked exc

It's not a universal problem - I've seen quite a few Japanese tourists carrying around little personal asshtrays that they dump the ash and butts into and then empty next time they pass a dustbin.

I get this problem too, specs: Win XP MCE SP3 OD+ Version 1.90a Build 538u Also using latest builds of RightClick, WindowsFX, ObjectBar, WindowBlinds, CursorFX and one little DesktopX widget. Same problem with or without AV or Firewall running. It tends to work for a short while, then the StartMenu will move back to its original position but still work and then eventually I get this error message. Possibly related - the [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/skin

A few more: - I can't place an icon outside a fence in the bottom inch of the screen. Can't say for sure that this is Fences or some interaction with OD+ but a fence can use the bottom inch - just not independent icons. - something seems to mess up the "Exclude this icon from quick-hide" option. I think it is the -D mode - the exclude seems to work consistently in -D mode but not on the normal desktop. - another tricky one to explain ... re-order

Another small bit of oddness, a little tricky to explain. Drag a fence off the bottom left or bottom right corner and the icons will attempt to stay on-screen - you can then keep dragging the fence away from the icons leaving them behind as if they were no the desktop. If you pick up the fence again they will pop back into the fence, and sometimes they will pop back whilst you drag the fence away.

Everyone seems to be getting upset about the "finished state / future updates" thing but it's just wording. "Finished" is an awkward word and was probably chosen to avoid an over-long clause. Something like: "complete as per the advertised features and fully playable without further update" Something can be finished as per the above statement and still be improved upon. You buy a new house and still decorate it, buy a new car and get the furry dice ...

Hehe - I just cleaned up my desktop with OD+ and now we get this. It's looking good so far, I was about to post about the problem with RightClick but see that was already thought through. I have noticed that it doesn't work with IconX but that is no surprise as they are both replacing the icon management in different way. I like the above idea of a Recent Documents list, how about a browser favourites one too? Another idea I have had is that one of the

Actually - no need, I have found the cause. Whilst checking my system settings before emailing support I spotted that there was a stray "desktop.ini" file in the "All Users / Programs / Startup" start menu folder. No idea how it got there but removing it sorted the problem. Thanks anyway.

Want one of mine? I have the opposite problem - it starts twice each time and ends up opening the configuration window on each restart. Not being snide, just thought the two problem might be connected in some way.

When my system starts I get the Object Dock main window opening instead of just the docks themselves loading. From what I can work out there is a Startup entry in both the Startup (User) section of the registry and in the Startup (Common) section. However if I remove either of those they both vanish. This also happens with RightClick. Anyone got any idea how to solve this minor annoyance?

Hehe - if ever there was a post that needed pinning. Now I've learned something else as well - there's an ObjectDock specific sub-forum - didn't spot it way down there beneath all the threads. Thanks, I'll need to have a rummage around to see what else I'm missing ;)

So, I've been playing with ObjectDock a bit and decided to upgrade to OD Plus. I'd seen screenshots with docks flying out horizontally from the left and right, but try as I might I couldn't figure out how they were doing it - all my docks were stacked vertically when on the left/right and horizontally when on top/bottom. I go through every single setting in the ObjectDock Properties dialog, all the right-click menus on the dock itself - nothing. So, I think, they are flying

If you are buying pre-built off the web, here's a nice trick to save a some cash and/or boost the spec - it's worked for me a couple of times now. Most manufacturers allow you to tailor the chosen model to some extent and most offer a set of pre-configured "special offer" machines - often matching one's they have had reviewed in the press. Find the pre-configured model that matches your needs/price point and pick the one just below that in specification. Then use the customisa

It took me two complete rejections and three straight to personal page before I came here and figured out how special I was: [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=37525&libid=8"]New Year firework[/link] [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=37524&libid=8"]Lighthouse Catching Sun[/link] ... and the one I thought was a dead cert ... SATA 2 Hard drives all cleaned up and defragged and still fairly long load times, I'd assumed that was normal - maybe it don't like my machine for some reason - so that could be dependent. Quite a few of the external areas and buildings that I have come across so far are small - and going into a building or cave leads to another load in most cases. Some of the cave complexes or larger buildings are a bit bigger. So I still stand by that - unless it gets better late game. 2
Don't dismiss Deus Ex outright because of this ... the graphics aren't amazing, but they're not so bad that they ever get in the way of the game, and you quickly adjust to them.
Seconded - I didn't mean the graphics were bad - just that current games graphics have moved on.
Let's hope Deus Ex 3 does better. The original is gold, but it would look quite dated by today's first-person standards.
Yeh! - it does look a bit dated - I went back to it a few months ago and was a bit taken aback how much things have moved on. I remember being gob-smacked by its quality first time round. But if you can get over that, it still plays beautifully.

It fails on the "in the last year or so" criterion but if you haven't played it then it still stands up well - Deus Ex. But the follow up lost a lot of the RPG elements - and seemed so much shallower.
