Impulse is now showing that there is new version of WindowsBlinds 7 avaiable but will not let me download it because my registration has expired (actually I have renewed but, as I understand it, Impulse wont accept the new registrations). I presume I can download and insstal the new version of WindowBlinds from the Store page - or is it a Beta? More annoyingly, it is also showing an update for Tiles and, since Impulse is the only place you can get the Beta's from and it thin

Slight clash with Steam version of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Whilst starting KOTOR it keeps being pulled back to the desktop, KOTOR is still running in the background and can be brought to the front briefly by Alt-Tabbing but it will quickly switch back again.

Advent - because we are all in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike. and Rogue - these two almost cost me my degree. Yip, of course I need all night access to the computer lab - I'm doing my project you know. Paper Boy - the arcade version, another degree threatener when it appeared in our student union. Space Ace - an early attempt at an "interactive cartoon film" - didn't really come o
Another strange one. System: Windows XP SP3 (with WindowBlinds & ObjectDock2) Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Why mention the mouse? Because with Tiles loaded I get serious lag on the mouse particularly if I move the mouse around quickly. If you throw the mouse around the screen you can build up a lag of more than a second - i.e. stop moving and it can take the mouse more than a second to catch up with all the queued movements. This particular mouse, in
I play a large mix of games from almost all genres and markets. But, to me, anyone who pays full release day price for a AAA game is an idiot (and I've been an idiot on occasions, before anyone takes offense). Here's my take on things (numbers and time scales variable): AAA games drop in price by 25 - 30% within around 3 months of release. Within 6 months you can pick them up discounted by 50 - 75% (heck 85% discounts on occasions). Wait a year or so and you wi
How do I rename or delete a page?
OK, this falls under the category of "configuration menu grouping and ordering just doesn't feel right" I mentioned earlier: Right click / Configure pages / Add filters ... In there (bottom of left column) you can add, rename and delete pages. Except: You aren't allowed to rename the "apps" (whuich doesnt appear in the list), "web" or "my tiles" You can </strong
WinX: Crashes on changing screen resolution.
Oops - another crash - this time coming out of screen saver mode. Windows XP: Firefox, Object Dock settings and Thunderbird were running - sitting on the "apps" page with appearance set to "Match current system skin".
It is a nice enough program but I'm going to have to see if I want to replace using ObjectDock Plus V2 and Fences. How about an undock function like what was on the old ObjectBar program.
Hmm, I don't see this as a replacement to either ObjectDock or Fences. At first I thought it might replace ObjectDock but then I realised that OD allows me to access applications with a few mouse movements and a single
Some more ideas: - How about making the caption pop up as a toolltip (or scroll) when the mouse is over it or its tile? This would be particularly useful for explorer windows so you can quickly see what folder they are looking at. - Dragging and dropping shortcuts between Object Dock and Tiles would be handy. - I don't have multiple screens at home (yet) but an option on the right click menu of a tile to move that window to a given screen would be handy.
Quoting WebReg, reply 22 Crashed on startup for me this morning. Which page did you have it on? and which OS are you using?
It was on system startup in XP so I presume, I didn't get a chance to see, just the apps page with no windows actually open yet. Crashed on startup for me this morning.
Good stuff (would be better if I had a wide-screen display) - a few bugs I've noticed (Windows XP): - extreme flickering but only if the "Pin on top" option is turned off - with "Pin on top" turned on it overwrites its own menus (and anyone elses menus that stray into that area) - when "Put on left" some windows get confused about their location - the size if correct but it they seem to think that Tiles is on the right so the position
Haven't tried it yet myself, but according to Neil you can run WFX3 & WFX4 simultaneously on XP.
Yowza - that's just scary. That'll teach me for un-installing WFX3 before I installed WFX4.
Is there any intention of reinstating the window animations in XP? Seems odd that WFX3 could do this but WXF4 tells us we need Vista/7.
Thanks - I admit I didn't read through every post [e digicons][/e] my bad.
I still have an Amiga 2000 emulator running in 1600x1200 32bit on my current PC - I keep bringing it with me every time I buy a new PC. I run it now and again for nostalgia sake. Back to the original "fight" between Windows and OS/2 - I remember an OS called "DesqView X" (I think I got the spelling right there). Basically this thing would let you run DOS, Windows, X Window and its own native applications in parallel with full pre-emptive multi-tasking. I'm not sure if
OK, I just picked up on this from another thread and I am not bothered about the need to archive everything myself but I have just spotted a slight flaw in the mechanism. With Object Desktop I am entitled to applications which are not suitable for my current operating system. Impulse (correctly) stops me from trying to install these but also stops me from "downloading and archiving" them for later use. So, I am unable to "protect my investment" as if I change operating
Installed Beta 7.09c last night and the problems discussed above seem to have been resolved. Thanks.
I have noticed the z-order issue with Window FX window shadows occasionally (I seem to recal it having real problems with "RightClick" menus) but not on the normal window borders themselves until this build of WB7. It was also fairly consitently wrong even after a reboot - and I think that it was getting it wrong with skins that didn't have semi-transparent borders. There is a small chance that this is actually related in some way to my PSU dying - perhaps something got corrupte
It's on my little list - but just got bumped when my PSU died and I had to replace it.[e digicons]:([/e] I found some other wierd issues with this build - like window borders being drawn over things they should be under. I've switched back to the 7.01 full release for now and all is well again.
Turning off "Menu Animations" in Window FX seems to stop the black (start)menu issue but the other issues are still present - looks like I'm going to have to live without Window FX for a while.
The driver update did not help but I have discoverd that it is a clash with "Window FX 3.1". I do not yet know which part of Window FX is triggering it but if I unload Window FX it seems to improve things a lot. The combination also causes some other issues I did not notice at first - for example - window sizes are wrong with buttons being clipped off the botom of some windows and Windows Explorer becomes very unstable and sometimes needs restarted. Oh, I'm running Windo
