ICQ was the first IM really, and so everyone I knew was on it and I used it dedicatedly. ICQ lost its way though. It became hugely bloated and more difficult to use for simple tasks. So I switched mainly to MSN. Although I lost the ability to skin really, it wasn't that big a deal. Yes EventHorizon a skinner is someone who creates the skins themselves. I enjoy skinned programs but I am not a skinner. I'm terrible with graphics lol. I didn't have to enable it for each user. It was already running when I switched users. Of course I didn't create new users until after I had installed Windowblinds. Perhaps that makes a difference from having the users already created prior to Windowblinds.
I know for me I never look at the list for Top Authors, as mentioned it rarely changes. Its nice to recognize authors that have been doing it for awhile and obviously do great work. I think some way to get others in the list is a good idea. Perhaps updated daily or weekly for top downloads.
Yup I've had the totally black start menu before for some odd reason, and once in awhile window remnants. A reboot does fix it, though wish I knew why it was happening. Although hasn't occurred in awhile now.
I'm looking to switch also. I tried Incredimail and found it slow, but I'm getting a new PC so it would run faster on it I would think, so might try it again. I also have checked out Pocomail and might consider that more since I don't really care about all the razzle dazzle stuff that Incredimail has. Yep I dumped Winamp3 awhile ago. Its a resource hog and so not worth it despite the freeform skinning. Besides most of the time I keep it very small. I agree there needs to be room for innovation if OS's and computers are to continue to grow. MS has had a very bad habit of doing things well enough to cause trouble for 3rd party developers, and once they dominate, they stop innovating. I for one sure hope StarDock can continue to help us create our desktops the way we want them. If I had to guess I'd say it might be your video card, but I don't really know. I just am mainly commenting because I am using the Longhorn M4 Plex skin and I don't see those white lines you mention.
I found once my folders were back to the ugly yellow even with using Icon packager. I don't know why that happened, but re-applying the icon theme I was using fix it.

I've only been with ODNT for a short time, but most of the time that there is a new build,beta,release or whatever, there is a link for the "history" that shows the main changes, additions or fixes.

Usually the icons on the web browser toolbar aren't changeable, unless you use a skinnable browser. IE by itself can't do that. As far as individual programs you can change the icon that appears in the start menu through Properties, but I believe the only way to really change it is to mess with the program directly. A good solution though is Icon Packager (available through ODNT). It changes a lot of system icons anyway, which I think is better than toolbar buttons. <A HRE

Personally I haven't witnessed that issue. Of course I use MyIE2 and not Internet Explorer itself. I would certainly think that is something that should be configurable though. There doesn't appear to be a useful reason for having the toolbars bigger.

I didn't understand that Terminal Server info myself when I first installed CM. It installed without a hitch, but I think it should have had a better explaination there. Either way SDC is replacing CM, so its a moot point now.
I've uninstalled DesktopX before, before I had ODNT anyway and it worked without a hitch. Otherwise I have always updated programs by installing over the original, unless explicitedly mentioned to uninstall.

Well this may not be the answer to Objectbar, but you can certainly download free tweak utilities that can clear the documents without re-boot. As mentioned above though, Objectbar only mimics the look of a bar. Whatever functionality it maintains is up to the skin creater.
I first used Windowblinds with Win98 on my AMD K6-2 500mhz system 224mb Ram, and I found it performed admirably. It was not an issue in using the computer. Although certainly the more programs I was running it ran slower, but that wasn't WB's fault it was Win98. With XP now I can do more than twice as much as I could with Win98 and run more than just WB to boot. I really suggest if you have the money upgrade to XP, it is well worth it.
