Skinners, Artists, Coders, and Testers Needed: Community Suite

Skinners, Artists, Coders, and Testers Needed: Community Suite

Happy Birthday!!

https://forums.wincustomize.com/?aid=174881

After the success on the Troll Thumping Day Suite some members of the Mother Thumpers are coming together to create the "Happy Birthday Suit(e)".

I envision this suite centered around a DX gadget that counts down to your birthday. On your birthday the gadget will prompt you to download the most recent incarnation of the suite components so for your special day, your desktop will celebrate with you.

At this point we have some components assigned to artists but this is a collaborative project and welcome input and assistance from everyone. Please jump in and help out if you'd like.

Alperium and sARRGe, we should try and get the Logons looking pretty close, so they don't buy another OS for that Logon :)

btw, my Mom's computer got fried in a power outage, so she is using mine quite a bit. It will be a week or so before I am on here regularly again and she gets a new computer.

Chocolate or Vanilla?
This is all a mock up. Let me know if I am close and what I need to tweak or change.

I can make the balloons more 'glossy'. Is the cake what you had in mind?

*thought--- a widget that drops confetti and streamers? Or maybe a screensaver? Like the ones that snow, just change it to confetti.

this one...

It all looks good to me.. :)

I'm gonna take one moment to bitch.
Skinstudio6.
This is one of my biggest frustrations. What Skinstudio shows you is NOT necessarily what you get when you apply the skin. It's probably the biggest reason on why I have a dozen or more half started skins. I hit apply and want to throw my monitor out the window next to me. I'm hereby giving notice/warning...when I finally figure this crap out, I'm gonna flood the gallery with skins. They may not be great or popular (I know my stuff isn't for everyones taste) but they're comin'. One way or another.

Back to topic....
or maybe not kinda sorts...
I know this should work but I can't get it to. Here is a screenshot.

The whole taskbar when applied is squished.
What 'special' thing am I missing to make this work? Magic Pink? Margins?

Let me get the taskbar working, I don't want to send something we can't use. I'm so close.

The team is working very nicely and everything looks cool by now. :HOT:

I think the countdown gadget must be like one can gift it to a beloved on his birthday.

All we need for this is to give an option for having password(or not if someone dont want) when inputing the birthday date. Then saving the date and password by persisting the storage. Now the date can only be changed if one nows the password or the password protection automatically gets removed when the preset birthday comes. So you can gift it to your beloved with setting his/her birthday date in the gadget.
Dont worry about the celebration on the birthday, we gonna have a lots of celebration. How about skinning the computer more with the suite elements as the birthday gets near and giving new things each day. For this we will also need specification by the user about which softwares he runs and which he doesnt.

The shape of the gadget may be a ballon which can be made flying on the desktop when not touched for a time.
I think the weather, calender, clock and other things may also be scripted to a ballon which slides slowly on the desktop, when not touched for a time.
I can give the codes for these things if these ideas look OK.

For the desktop to have some fine icing fall or something like this, Please suggest how the graphics must look like and I will try to script it.

Please give someideas about an all new B'day gadget game. Speak out whatever you want and dont care about whether it can be done or not. Remember we have some masters working for the suite so we just have to think big and to make it happen is the problem of the Biggies.  ;)

Right now I m really felling bad for I cant come here often. Why?

Po you are going to have to leave the same # of pixels of empty space above the taskbar as your balloon button are.

Ex,.... taskbar button height is 50 then if the bar itself is 30(default)them there should be 20 blank space above the bar.

Dont forget also the content margin in the taskbar buttons sets overall height of the bar!!!!!!!

Test Balloon Sprites.

I made these this morning. They can be used for the suite, in the screen saver or where ever. 15 colors in all. (60x220 - .png files). All done in photoshop and ready to be animated.
What do you think?

...password by persisting the storage

This is one of my peeves. Have seen people save passwords this way and they are neither encoded or encrypted. At the very least use base64 encoding if you must save it. Have been playing around with a Encryption/Encoding class. Using SHA1 works nice for something like this.
