After the success on the Troll Thumping Day Suite some members of the Mother Thumpers are coming together to create the "Happy Birthday Suit(e)".

I envision this suite centered around a DX gadget that counts down to your birthday. On your birthday the gadget will prompt you to download the most recent incarnation of the suite components so for your special day, your desktop will celebrate with you.

At this point we have some components assigned to artists but this is a collaborative project and welcome input and assistance from everyone. Please jump in and help out if you'd like.

This is one of my peeves. Have seen people save passwords this way and they are neither encoded or encrypted. At the very least use base64 encoding if you must save it. Have been playing around with a Encryption/Encoding class. Using SHA1 works nice for something like this.


Ya encryping the password is nice but here password is used so that the person you are gifting the gadget cant change the date you have presetted until his/her birthday comes or until you want it. There are no security issues and nothing like personal information threat.
But if this is what we need then I will take your help to encrypt the password. ;)

Draft animation of what I have in mind, with the balloons. Concerning, the background, We have several options with this. We can use the wallpaper that will be made for the suite or we can have transparent one, or both we can have both.

Po you are going to have to leave the same # of pixels of empty space above the taskbar as your balloon button are.

Ex,.... taskbar button height is 50 then if the bar itself is 30(default)them there should be 20 blank space above the bar.

Dont forget also the content margin in the taskbar buttons sets overall height of the bar!!!!!!!


Avman, I think I follow what you're saying. Let me ask you this...Do you think I would have better luck using the old Skinstudio or should I stick with SS6?

That looks cool.

I am now doing the same balloons with an animated string (see reply 163)
They will be the same 15 colors same size, but will they will be animated gifs (they look more realistic in the screen saver). I should have them done by the end of this weekend.
