Hi Folks - this is Colleen, Elie's other half.  I wanted to let those of you that know Elie, know that he is in the hospital in serious condition.  He has some sort of viral infection that has impacted all of his systems, including his brain.  I took him in Friday morning and he has been in the ICU since then.

For those of you that know and care for Elie, I ask for your prayers or other kind thoughts into the universe for his recovery.

I will try to post something again soon.  I apologize for the "public" forum, but the truth is, I don't really know how to use the blog, so this is the best I could do.

Thanks in advance for your positive thoughts for Elie.

I just got done talking him.  He's weak and got tired after about 5 min so our conversation was brief, but he's BACK.  Elie is back, and I am incredibly grateful for that.

He said to keep the prayers and positive energy coming, so I'll do my part....and I know that the rest of JU will do the same.

Get out the beer, wine (non-alcoholic) and confetti!  Elie is coming home! 

Either tomorrow or Tuesday, looks like.  They talked about sending him to a rehab for a few days, but NO, thank you very much.  Rehabs are notorious for more mysterious diseases than the jungles of Borneo, so what needs to be done will be done at home and if I need help I know how to ask for it.  He is really making incredible progress, walking with a walker, getting out of bed on his own, putting on clothing and his mind appears to be quite clear.  A little forgetful here and there, but nothing that seems substantial.

I can't thank you all enough for going on this journey with me.  The prayers, the cards and notes, the food and bears but mostly, just knowing that you all value Elie so much (okay, some of you actually love him) is certainly part of what kept ME going.

I don't know how soon blogging will be on his mind, but I will either be back with an update, or he will be back his big, bad self.
