What was "Sol" before you renamed it? [e digicons][/e]
Well, as a long, long time Tron fan, I saw that and was like, "I know that name. I know I know that name." You sure it wasn't an easter egg the first time 'round?
Okay, another question: is the star map 3D? I'm looking, and some of those stars seem like they're right on top of each other, almost like they're in front of or behind others. Now, making the map 3D seems like a logical next step from the 2D map of SC2, and I think it's awesome if you've done it...but I obviously can't tell from that static, 2D image.
Wait a minute, wait a minute... "Alan Bradley"...? Dude...that's TRON. That's the guy who programmed Tron. You sly, amazing, Easter-Egging people! [e digicons][/e]
So, I'm looking at that star map, and it reminded me of something... In the Chapter One beta, it was possible to get a list of what I suspect was every star in the game; you couldn't see a map, but there was a text list. And Zeta Reticuli was not on there. I was very disappointed. [e digicons]XO[/e]
Well...I suppose an Honorable Mention is something, anyway.
Only an 'Honorable Mention"...? Awwww. [e digicons]:'([/e]
But will the game come with a free souvenir mug?
Doing that requires ritual sacrifice. You do have an altar and peasants available, right?
Well, it's not first-person, for one thing. As for the rest, I have to guess--since I'm not part of Stardock--but based on how similar this seems to SC2 (which came out way before NMS), I think these won't be way far off: It has a well-defined story, unlike NMS. Interactions with aliens won't be so stupidly generic; they'll actually speak to you like you're having a real conversation. Those interactions will lead to story-changes.</
However it's handled, if the option to waterski isn't there, I'll be very disappointed.
Heh. I remember that, a while back, there was a game coming out (I think it might have been "Spore") and I ordered the box version...and the box arrived with no disc, just a code for downloading it online. I was understandably grumpy. I miss when games came with stuff. SC2 came with a fold-out map of the game's galaxy. I still have the cloth maps--yes, cloth! --that came with Ultima 5 and 6, and one of them (I think it was 5) came with
Terran Cruiser updated in style to match the flag ship style.
But do the nuke missiles have explosions yet?
Don't want to do any spoilers so I can't really show off some of the other pages. But over the course of your adventure, you'll start picking up a lot of...stuff.
I like stuff, but...what about things ?
Okay. Thanks. I was curious about that for quite some time. Would I be right in assuming that the procedural-generation system will be available for the Adventure Studio? I notice that there is a Building Crafting feature; there doesn't seem to be a tons of parts--or weren't, the last time I checked--but it got me thinking: the one thing we never saw in SC2 was an inhabited planet. Even when we got to a homeworld, touching the planet brought us to a talk-screen
Bionic why are you not on the Discord?
I am...I'm just busy. A lot.
But even their Flak Cannons are a bit of a mystery.
Flak is from WWII, a kind of anti-aircraft fire; basically, a big ol' shell was fired into the air where it would explode, sending fragments of metal flying all over the place, almost like fireworks. The explosion wasn't meant to make the kill; it was the fragments that did the damage. Well, the Scryve Flak Guns basically do the same thing; if a ship gets too close, turn on the anti-spaceship guns and let the e
I regularly go with the Battlestar Galactica reboot analogy.
Don't even get me started. (I could have liked the reboot, except they decided to go dark. I HATE dark. My life is dark enough; my entertainment is supposed to be relief, a distraction. (I have other reasons, too, but that's the big one.) I still wanna know why Jeff has such a human-sounding name. (Yeah, I know; kinna missing the point of the post, but that's been buggin' me...) That said, yeah, SCO has been giving me a "cute" impression, but I was okay with it; Star Control has always had a kind of cartoonish look to it. I look at the Spathi, the Pkunk, the VUX, even the Shofixti (at least a little), and there is definitely a kind of goofy vibe. Not ever
I wasn't gonna bring it up because I was worried it was my computer, so I probably shouldn't kvetch...but the article mentions long load times, and...yeah. That's definitely a thing.

Oh, I'm sure the game has bugs. ...seems like almost every sci-fi franchise has insectoid aliens eventually. [e digicons]:P[/e]
