Same thing, really, unless they've changed it radically since the last version. But, as far as I know, the only difference between border and ZOC is that the border is that bright line surrounding your ZOC. So it's just different aspects of the same thing. And that border should only appear around the hexes in your ZOC.

I'm also noticing that the ZOCs aren't quite as affected as they used to be. I mean, I conquer all of the planets within 20 or so hexes, place Culture starbases along the border, study Influence techs out the wazoo and be #1 in tech across the galaxy...and all of that territory is still surrounded by the enemy's ZOC, which hasn't budged an inch. I mean, I hate to say it, but the game is nigh unplayable at this point.

Well, if we're gonna do that, I'd like it if there was a center-on-notification or center-on-selection button, instead of the game auto-centering when you receive the note or select a ship from the fleet list on the right. Sometimes, it's like, okay...I want to move my fleet toward this battle, I need my biggest fleet, (ah-ha) there it is on the list, clickeroo... ...and now I can't find the battle anymore because the view is now on the ship and th

You know how colony ships can Auto-Colonize, seeking out an available planet all on their own...? I'd like something similar for asteroid miners. Sometimes, an asteroid cluster is small or blends in with the background, or some thing, and finding it again is a giant PITA; it'd be great to be able to tell your asteroid miners to go seek out the nearest asteroids within your ZOC. (And, while we're on the topic, it'd be great if the miners&nbsp

But what if none of the pictures match your race's description at all? I saw something that said they'd take the request and manually generate something new, but how do I tell 'em I'm not finding anything appropriate?

The only way I can accurately see the Zone of Control for each empire is to turn on the grid-visible-zoomed-out option and look at the color of the hex-grid. Those borders absolutely do not represent the actual Zone of Control, and it's been like this since the most recent patch.

I like to start a game with next-to-nobody nearby so I have time to build up my empire before first contact. But the setting that at first appears to make sure other civilizations start out far away seems to do very little; there is usually one right in my backyard.

It'll never happen, but you know what I would love in ways you've only read about...? Porting Star Control 2 into the Star Control Origins engine. Like, no other difference whatsoever--like, seriously; change nothing about the game itself--but give it a weapons-grade make-over. That'd be so much fun.

The music for planet exploration, though...the mood is definitely different. If I wasn't afraid of copyright issues, I'd make a comparison video on my YouTube channel. That really took away from the experience for me.[/quote] Agreed. A while back, someone said that the game felt half-finished, and I totally know what they meant; it's exactly that sort of thing--plus the occasional moments where there is no voice, only text--that makes it feel that way. Believe me when I say, I wish that had never happened. And I was definitely amused to bump into that particular easter egg.

S'a bit more than just that. Creature I met describes the entire Zoq-Fot-Pik-Zebranky conflict and even mentions Frungy.

Did anybody else encounter the Pik of the Zoq-Fot-Pik on Yilfrqa in the Epsilon Indi system...? I thought SC2 creatures wouldn't be here in SCO...
