As the Slyne, I was told ingame that I needed Extreme Colonization to land on two different planets. However when I looked at their tech tree, there is no such option. It's been removed which does make sense to me logically given they are not carbon based lifeforms. No way for me to then land a colony ship though... It doesn't end there. I later realized that I could trade for that technology. I did, but could not still land. Realized I could stil

I've played 3 games with all nine computers set on Intelligent or Gifted in large universes. Seemed to be winning all of them based on population and planet totals before I'd quit. Practicing my strategy for Release 1.1. Realize. I used to consistently win on Challenging in Gal Civ 1. Initial start location and abilities can play a large factor in long term success.

As of Tuesday, I still could not find the game at Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop, or Fry's Electronics. I think something is "broken" in the retail chain directed toward San Jose, CA. Finally stopped looking since my Amazon order is finally shipping... and it should arrive as soon as end of next week. Waited a few years already since Gal Civ, what's another week? Seriously. I know Stardock has no direct control over the retail side of things. However, distribution has been terrible

It's Monday and I still can't find the Gal Civ 2 anywhere in San Jose, CA. Just came back from another Fry's. Local Walmart said they might have it tomorrow. Best Buy doesn't even have the game listed on their website as of last night and I've tried two of their stores. GameStop still hasn't received their copies. I have it on mail order now from Amazon. Their site says the game should be mailed as early as March 2.

Tried 4 stores yesterday no luck. Went back to three of them today since fourth claimed they aren't getting any "could be wrong though". Realize. I live in San Jose, CA. This isn't the middle of nowhere. Heck. Center of Silicon Valley. My local Best Buy still doesn't have it, but the game is supposed to arrive anytime. Gamestop same story. Walmart has no clue since I learned the PC games they stock are provided by a third party who controls that section. Their inventory is re

Reply to message #18... That's what the software manager claimed when I asked her if any other Fry's stores in my area would have it. She was looking on their inventory screen, but did find it in their product catalog. Perhaps inventory database hadn't been updated yet? I did find it hard to believe that no Fry's in my area would have it, but she has no reason to lie.

Yesterday I went to 4 stores in San Jose, CA. Fry's says none of their stores will carry it. Best Buy has about 20 coming which might be here next week. Gamestop told me they should arrive later that day. Walmart didn't have any displayed, but I didn't talk to the clerk. I'll go back to Walmart later since they have the Collector Edition. If I can get it there, I'll cancel my Amazon order.

I don't have the game yet, so my answer will be based on Gal Civ 1. The population represented the tax paying base. The higher the morale, the more who were willing and able to provide revenue. Downside of course is that the planet became more and more crowded. If you don't wish to send the people away, you can build morale improvement buildings or increase your tax rates that will affect morale and in turn slow down growth. I don' t think the latter is a good long term

I preordered from Amazon. Not sure what I'll receive. Decided to look locally. I live in San Jose, CA (Silicon Valley). Fry's claims they will not carry Gal Civ 2 anywhere in this region. Gamestop said their units might arrive today. Best Buy is getting like 20 units for this whole area which might arrive next week. Walmart wasn't stocking it yet. Didn't ask the clerk since she was busy helping someone with Ninja Turtle DVDs. I WANT the Collector Stuff. Paper and el

Civ 4 only works on my three year old 1.8 GHz desktop. My personal two year old 2.6 GHz Dell laptop has video issues even after patching the game and updating the driver. As a result, I'm haven't touched it in the past month since I don't like being "trapped" in the study. I prefer to play games while watching television elsewhere in the house or travelling.

I like both Firefly and Battlestar. I think the strength of both shows is that there is good character development and interaction. Firefly had alot more subtle humor though.

From the FAQ... Q: If I pre-order at will I get the Collector' Edition? A: In North America, as far as we know, ALL pre-orders are being fulfilled with the Collector's Edition. Walmart, EB, and Gamestop explicitly mention it on their sites for instance. Bear in mind: We don't control retail. So here's some hel

I deleted all the saved games except for one. Played a few extra turns and renamed it. Won. Still can't upload my score. Thanks for all the suggestions though. It is appreciated. Maybe I'll try for an Alliance victory to see if that works since my original game was Military. I'm done playing GalCiv for awhile.

I just finished the first game on my laptop where I downloaded the game using SD Central. Tried to upload my score four times. Goes IMMEDIATELY to main menu. No status message of any kind. Running 1.2. Thoughts? Could it have anything to do with the no information on the conclusion page when you save a game and restart it later so that the previously extermined races show no data. I did finish the game while offline and was hoping to submit results now. Yes. My alias A
1. I had saved earlier and had come back to it, and in the final screens, the races that had been wiped out before I had saved and quit earlier had no scores, no techs, no planets, but somehow had still discovered their techs.2. No final movie after military conquest.
Confirm 1. No problem regarding 2. In addition, two of my Dreadnaughts seemed to teleport around a planet. They were moving east. Suddenly jumped somewhere nw of the planet, but continued toward
