Heh, don't flatter yourself, I was anything but riled by your post. I was just responding to your statement about a simple templating system making developers *obsolete*.. Oh, and I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am that you are friends with T-man. I'll start work on my shrine as soon as humanly possible...

well, what is giving you this error? A socket error is usually thrown by a client that needs to make a connection to a server. So, if you are getting this from IE do you have a firewall installed? Have you tried any other browser software? Do you get this message from SD Central? I guess the point of this is, can you provide some more details?

I disagree entirely... If you think web development is only making a fancy front end to a website then you've not done much real development. DotNetNuke allows you to use precanned templates to create basic website layouts and you can also provide different look and feel or skins for the templates, but it doesn't do anything as far as real content for the site. A developers job is to provide the meat of the site, typically there are graphics artists pr

This should create some interesting comments now that people know it's being tracked. I typically only comment on threads where I have an opinion or think I can help, with this I can see lots of people commenting with: QFT just to get some points to get on the list... Lovely! OK, just saw the comments about quality counting as well, but how can quality in a comment be determined? Surely there isn't someone at SD respons

Wow, I never thought I find an entire thread of other people that love the Mac & Cheese... I love the original Kraft Mac & Cheese, no shapes, no creamy cheese, just noodles and powdered cheese thank you very much! It even worked during the time we were laying low from Rita!!

A .CS file (or other scripting file) that handles the logic of it Should this be a .cs file (or a scripting file)? Because cs is currently the extension for a C# file which is most definitely not a scripting language.

Explain you rsituation to the seller on E-bay and see what he is willing to do. Have him call Belkin and get an RMA for the item and then you send it in. If he's a reputable seller he will be more than willing to help you in any way so you can use the item he sold you. And if all else fails, leave a negative feedback on his e-bay account, if he's making any amount of money from e-bay he'll do whatever it takes to get that negative feedback off his acc

Well, I've not used an ATI card in quite a long time as I'm an nVidia fan through and through.. I currently have the Leadtek WinFast A400GT TDH (GeForce 6800 GT).. Quite a long product name there. But since I haven't upgraded my computer in around 2 years I just yesterday bit the bullet so to speak and bought this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122229 We'll see how the performance is

Well, I have a weak spot for ice cream in general but I think my favorite for the time has got to be ColdStone's Mud Pie Mojo... http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/secondary/creation.asp?id=31 In a waffle bowl so as to not lose any of the goodness... <img src

Interesting that you would heap that accusation on MS and on Gates but not make any mention of the founders of Google, Bushman.. Do you think the founders of Google are poor college kids just trying to scrape by? No, quite far from it, I believe they are both multi-millionaires by now, and golly if they haven't tried everything they can think of to expand that. Now, if you want to bash Gates, feel free but maybe you need to take a look at how much he d

Well, it is your computer and is therefore your choice, it just seems like a lot of extra work for something that really is quite harmless. Oh well, to each his own I suppose. Good luck with your dustbuster and tinfoil hat, try not to venture out in incement weather as you might get a real jolt out of it.

Help is preferable to humiliation.... Help is exactly what would have been offered if perhaps the OP had decided to come here and present his concerns/worries in an adult manner. If he wanted to go off on a tirade he should have kept to private channels.. I guess I can call off the hounds for now...

AH, gotta love it.. All the spyware virus and malware creators have apparently won the battle.. There are far too many people who simply don't understand how their computers work yet they feel the need to come spew their paranoia all over public places because a piece of software put... ohhh gasp.. a registry entry on their computer... Ohhh noes!!! teisco, you do realize that almost EVERY piece of software you install on your computer puts e

/rant So, does everyone here just make do with the bugs when using CXP and DX together? I'm referring mostly to the problems where when you use CX your cursor tends to go behind an object instead of on top of it. I've seen this mentioned in other threads and it's apparently been around for quite some time, is it ever going to be fixed? I know that Alberto works at Stardock on DX now but why isn't CX ever improved on? I find it hard to believ

ok, since I'm not sure where you're having problems I'll give you creating a new DX object step 1... 1) Run DxBuilder 2) right-click on the system tray icon 3) select New object from the list 4) explore the options available and see what changing them does to the object. That is the quick way to create an *extremely* basic object that really won't do anything. If you create it as a shortcut you can make it open a fo

Not sure there's any one way to start... What do you want to make? You need an idea first and foremost. Then you'll need to create your graphics or see if you can get someone to help with that. Then you can put all the pieces together and add whatever scripting you need. I know this is generic but it's about as good as I can offer with the question you've posed.

do you have the permission from Nissan to use the Skyline logo in your skin? I only ask because anyone who might actually help will ask the same. If you want to re-create the logo they will accept it as fanart I believe, but if you copied the logo from the Nissan webpage you cannot use it without getting permission.

I agree with everyone here that the pilots are not the cause of these tragedies. If there's someone to blame it's probably the companies that keep the pilots flying as close to 100% as possible so they can make more money. But honestly, have you ever seen a map of the US that shows the typical amount of air traffic that is flying at any one time. Yes, there have been seemingly more crashes lately but we're only going to hear about the ones with problem

Patience young one... There are a myriad of things that could have caused one skin to be accepted before the other none of which warrant a thread to talk about them. Besides, I believe the standard moderation time is 5 days, so see you on the 24th..

It's got bugs. Wow, you can tell a product has bugs from a screenshot? That's pretty impressive, it looks good to me. Heck I'm more than willing to make due with a few bugs to get to play around with the new stuff a little. I thought that's one of the perks of the ODNT membership. I rememeber ba

#26 looks pretty nice, and if you are up for a little challenge just get it with the minimum amount of ram you can get it from DELL with and then buy the RAM from a third party. Everyone carries RAM for DELL's notebooks and it's probably at least 25% cheaper than what you'll get it from DELL for.
