will that discourge others from visiting this site That was actually discussed in the thread where Frogboy mentioned the changes that were coming to the site and the final decision was, yes, it might but in order for WC to become more manageable in terms of monthly cost something had to be done. So, t

I'm going to have to ask for a White chocolate macadamia nut cookie here please... Oh, and as far as Spyware goes all I have to say to that is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! What spyware does SpySweeper claim is being installed? Maybe something called a 'Tracking Cookie', i.e. a spyware apps way to cause as much panic in it's users as possible while at the same time not actually proving anything. Trust the folks who have posted already, WC is about the last place

PayPal is owned by eBay? Yup, E-Bay bought pay-pal quite a few years back.. Makes sense if you think about it. Why not make money on the payments for the items you're making money on the sale of (say that 3 times quickly). <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN="abs

I wouldn't think installing bootskin would be any different in a dual-boot environment. Since you are replacing the bootscreen that comes up once the OS starts to load and the OS selection screen is before that. Have you tried just installing it on the XP Pro OS? That's what I would try first and see how it goes. Good Luck!

I see what you are talking about Neophil78. I use Firefox for my browser and most icon packages use a big Internet Explorer looking icon for the internet icon, but I just deal with it and move on. I believe IP works by associating icons with extensions, NOT with the applications that are registered to handle those filetypes (extensions). So, is it possible for IP to handle these special cases, probably. Does that mean it will? Perhaps, but I would say

Oh, there are lots of things in CXP that need to be fixed, the question is will they ever be fixed.. If I had one complaint about Object Desktop it would be that there are a handful of EXCELLENT programs tossed in with a whole bunch of apps that I would call half baked and highly promising but not quite done. CXP is one I would toss into the not quite done category, the cursor behind taskbars and DX objects is one of the most annoying bugs with CX in m

I just recently found a very cool extension for FireFox. It's called IETab and it allows you to load an instance of IE inside a FireFox tab. Now, when you go to a site that says it requires IE, you can simply use this extension to load the site in FF. Here's some info from the Mozilla Extensions site: IE Tab - an extension from Taiwan, features: Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox. If you need some instructions. Please vis

That wbload data got wadded up into a DLL and is still there, just not listed as a process. Not a bad thing, but the "native" claim is misleading. Now, I'm not 100% positive about this but the first few betas of WB5 did not have the WBload process or the taskbar icon for accessing the WBConfig app. We

I used to wonder the same thing but now I just have a downloads folder that I keep organized so I can find new downloads quickly and I keep a shortcut to the folder on my OD bar. Anyway, the only semi-solution I was ever able to find was to keep a 'place holder' icon behind the item (in your case the calendar widget) that will keep the newly downloaded files from showing up behind your calendar. It would be nice if widgets had some setting or were able

I get the one thing I wish for the most: The oppotunity to be with my wife and kids. It's really funny you should say that Snowman cause for this Christmas after doing the 'long distance' relationship for far too long I have finally gotten a new job in the same city as my fiancee!!! I'll be moving ove

well, I can cause it to happen on a clean install of windows with only PerfectDisk and WB installed. I didn't just blindly listen to what they claimed the problem was, and if the problem is not WB in this case then why does excluding the PDSched.exe file from WB's skinning fix the problem? I wonder if it's some strange problem caused partially by the fact that I'm using a dual-core processor..

I've spent the last couple of weeks working with the support folks at Raxco trying to determine why my disk defragmenter (PerfectDisk 7.0) crashes whenever it is scheduled to run an offline defragmentation. After I sent a crash log to them they replied and said it was wblind.dll that was causing the problem with their application. I was able to work around it by excluding the particular executable from withing WB but it seems odd that I would have to d

Rollup works here for WMP using WB 4.6 It is also skinned (Menu section). Perhaps this is a WB5 limitation only, which has yet to be resolved. Roll-up on WMP skins only works for me if I make the non-custom painted title bar area visible, and even then it doesn't roll-up the same way other skins

1) I use Visual Studio .NET 2003 every day. I just minimized the window and re-stored it and if it does what you say it happens so quickly on my machine it's not even noticable. Not sure this is a bug, or simply the way it's always been done but it might run a little slower on your machine. 2) Used arrow some didn't have any problems but I like Aura better so I'm using it. 3) WB doesn't skin applications that have custom painted w

it would only be a matter of time until there will be a hack to active it again Yes, I understand that better locks simply lead to better theives but I also know for a fact that the number of people that will go through the trouble of trying to find a crack as opposed to either un-installing it is pro

Brad, Are there any intentions of time limiting the shareware versions of the SD apps? Personally, it's infuriating to see people come on here and talk about their use of the *free* version of WB and that they should be able to download all the skins they want cause they are using the app and yadda yadda yadda.. I personally think after 30 days (well, maybe 60) WB should disable itself and not allow a re-install. Heck, while you're at it hav

While you have nothing to worry about because it's been stated in this thread more than once that OD subscribers are NOT the problem. Unless you are downloading LOTS of content, in which case you should consider buying a WC subscription. But, if you only visit occassionally then you as a customer are not in any danger of being cut off. I do however feel that your analogy is somewhat flawed: <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=c

Here's the parts I recently purchased when upgrading my system from a 2.53GHz P4. Also, if interested check out http://www.sharkeyextreme.com for CPU comparisons. You'll find a good one there comparing the AMD dual-cores to the Pentium D series. It's interesting that the Pentium's just can't come close to the AMD X2's in performance. But, if you are looking for nothing more than screaming game performance your best bet is to get a higher clocked Athlon
