I don't know if there's one that currently exists, but if you wanted to pay to have one custom made for you, your best bet is to look in the dashboard section and try contacting some of the more popular authors of that section.

Also try downloading existing zoomers for DX, then looking at how they work, extracting the images to see how they're made up and animated etc. If you're not sure how to extract the images, just rename the .dxpack containing the zoomer to a .zip and extract with your favourite compression proggy (use winrar, it's the TRUE path)

It sounds like it's definitely your monitor, try playing with different refresh rates. There's also a tool called PowerStrip (http://www.entechtaiwan.com/ps.htm) that may be useful in finding out what your card and monitor are capable of. Hope this helps, AJ

There's a winamp plugin bundled with DX that does pretty much exactly that. You can configure controls with your own graphics, text display, progress meters etc. The easiest way to learn is just to play with it, it might also be helpful to download another theme (such as soundtox) which contains winamp controls and take a look at how they work. Can you be a little more specific with what you're trying to do? If you want to create some objects with some custom behaviours, and plugins don't already exists to do what you want, it may be time to break out the c++. Bear in mind also that a fair number of plugins are packaged with DX and not available for download on this site. AJ

You've copyrighted the window control buttons? Wow, you must be owed quite a bit of money, a fair amount of which is mine since you seem to like using vowels(tm) which are copyrighted by me.

If you buy a car you are supporting the American economy. You support the dealership by signing the deal, and you support the baillifs when they come to reposses your car because you and half of the rest of the country just got laid off, so go and buy a car! On a side note, what TGTSoft is doing is wrong in my eyes, they are undeniably trying to promote the idea that MSStyles is their product, which it is not. In this free economy, if I started trying to sell my own patched version of U

Just to throw in my share of stirring, the mIRC icon in the Mac Icon pack linked to at the top is from my mIRC DesktopX Zoomer, which was original work. Not that I really care that much, just thought I'd give myself credit where credit was due, since nobody else seems too concerned about doing it AJ

I'm sure it's possible, but it would be more a case of giving the illusion of the tabs sliding out by having a static image of the said dialog which slides out, and then launches the real program via its executable (or .cpl in the case of wb), and positioning it on top of the static image. AJ

Depends what you mean by desktop theme. What I suspect you mean is those such as the ones in the DesktopX section. The software you need for this is DesktopX. To get any of the software for which themes are available on this site, just click the application name in the top right of the boxes containing the screenshots/description in the theme sections. If you mean theming the windows, then there's 2 options, the more powerful of these is WindowBlinds, available the same way as the other applicat

It's true, Apple have had some silly ideas in the past, mostly involving gimmickery to sell their hardware. Is it just me that has noticed the disproportionate number of Macs in movies and TV shows? Mr. Folden, I have a copy of Aqua Finder for windows if you would like it, the place I got it from seems to have removed it, no doubt at the request of Apple. If you want me to send it just ICQ or email me.

Just out of curiosity, where did you hear this rumour? It seems highly improbable to me, even though it could be the move that really makes things happen for Apple, one of their main selling points is that they produce everything themselves...if you could run Mac stuff on a PC all of a sudden, I imagine they'd see a dramatic decrease in their hardware sales (that may well be outweighed by the increase in their software sales). It's an intriguing thought anyway.

You seem to have hit my point on the head while missing it. You are correct, *some* themes are good. I remember that Sputnik was what inspired me to first try DX, and then I spent several hours configuring it, redoing graphics, moving stuff around etc. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there seems to be a lot of "themes" there that are simply wallpapers with other peoples' objects on them.
