Wow, that guy that described Cerrulean Studios as parasites on the back of AOL can **** my *****. Brown nosers like him make me angry. I can see AOL's point of view. If Trillian was its own IM network, and AOL started nosing in on it and cutting out the ads that funded the service, I'd side with Trillian, but I just despise AOL/Time Warner/Coca Cola/God knows what else they own. Microsoft's got nothing on these fools.

well, I guess you can just do that from in appearance. I assumed he meant luna, because with that, you're stuck with the 3 defaults, where as the classic scheme, you can change just as in previous windows versions.
43) Further to rule 40, either MadIce or GreenReaper will be required to provide the beer, since North Americans don't seem to be very good at making it (it's all a bit fizzy and watery).
39) It's going to be a long and ugly legal battle, I've got a staggering $200 to spend, so I plan to fight this all the way, and even if you're right, I'll still crush you with legal costs. Hooray for Justice, the American Way
If you're a resource freak you really should check out WindowBlinds, with UIS1 skins, it's actually faster and lighter on resources than Mircosoft's MSStyles engine, which is what you are using if you're using the default Luna theme, or any other MSStyles theme such as the ones on ThemeXP.org AJ
The files are sent via an ASP redirect script, this is quite common, and the flaw lies with GoZilla, not the site.
37) /me has now copyrighted the terms "Skinning", "Skinnable", and "Skins". Any application and/or site using these terms must pay royalties.
29) Rule 23 is possibly the best thing I've ever heard Shoggot say, and one of the best rules, maybe he's not so bad after all.
18) Users that use lame ISPs like AOL, and still think that Windows ME is a good OS are to be looked down upon. We were always this L337, and never had to "learn as we went along".
17) Webmasters are to set an example for less L337 users by being trolls in their own forums.
Wow, you are an insightful man Koop.
Watch movies, go to Future Shop (Best Buy to the US citizens, Curry's to UK people), read, wish I was at the computer.
13) Developers who work hard on a product and refuse to give out their source so that people can reuse their source code in commercial applications whilst bitching about the original developer who once tried to charge for an application, which makes them a sell out, shall be ostracized in public message boards with regularity.
Jafo seems to have missed this one as well. The 12 principals of the scene would suggest 12 leaders of the scene, I believe the word that is sought here is principles, which would allude to basic truths, laws or assumptions. /me he-bitch-man-slaps Jafo for missing this one.
I would be .COM MAN, with the ability to spend millions of dollars and seemingly accomplish nothing.
/me pokes it with a pointed stick.
This is supposed to be amusing and satirical, if this sort of thing upsets you, please don't let this sort of thing upset you. 1) The scene is created by artists and developers, and only artists and developers. If you have been downloading other peoples' skins and using their applications for years, being disagreeable on message boards does not make you "part of The Scene". 2) The scene is targetted towards artists and developers, not people who "contribute" to the scene by bei
I can see where the concept of original sin comes from, having spent much time around young children. But people are basically born neutral, their values will be the ones imposed on them by the environment in which they grow up. I'm not one for religion, which certainly for the most part seems a little far fetched and often silly to me, so I honestly believe that each person comes into this world as a clean slate.
Wow, people can be so silly. He started off well, I can't say I agreed with all of his points, particularly as a professional developer, yes I like to do this stuff, but I have to eat, and I work damn hard at it. However, he quickly fell into the trap of silliness as so often happens. As for Shoggot being exiled, I had exactly the same bug he had, but cleaning out my cookies fixed it, I hope I wasn't banned too, though I'm not entirely sure that banning Shoggot from here would be such a bad idea
Wow, this is quickly turning into a comprehensive guide. To further answer starone's question, "Say, what is a crumpet?", it, like so many of the other finer words in the Limey language, is largely a matter of context. "A crumpet" would indeed be the fine snack, but "A bit of crumpet" would rarely refer to the toaster goodie, and would more likely refer to what JFK may well have referred to as "tang", of which, I read astronauts get all they want. Further to the matter of words having m
I believe to create CursorXP themes, you make your graphics in your favourite graphics program(s), export them as PNG, then import them into CursorXP. If you rename a CursorXP theme file to .zip, you'll easily be able to see how it's made up. As for your rebooting problem, Windows XP will reboot if it encounters a fatal error (much like the blue screen, but with less blue and lots more rebooting). This hasn't happened to me, or most people as far as I'm aware. The first step would be to
I would say me, but I'm more acting as a helper to GreenReaper. I'm good with the ideas and general design work, but he's mean with that notepad, how could I hope to compete?
/me is mastar king of ASP, and would be happy to aid such an endevour.
Ah BoXXi, how could I miss such an obvious one as fag. Yes, announcing to the office that you're going out for a fag will always raise a few giggles. The strangest thing is that they completely understand what you mean, but choose to take it the other way as a matter of policy. Another one I left out was tissue, meaning "kleenex", these Americans are big on their brand names.
I saw a thread last night where there seemed to be a little confusion as to what "Tippex" (whiteout) is. As a British expatriate living amongst our colonial friends in North America, I thought it might be helpful to do something of a language comparison. Because of this is a site for the whole family, I'll keep it from being too raunchy. Tippex - Whiteout, this has already been covered in another thread. Cellotape - Scotch tape. Plaster - Band aid. Rubber - Eraser, you would
