I'd personally say go with Photoshop if you can. I could be considered biased though, since I've been using Photoshop for so long. I also use Paint Shop Pro, but imho after version 5, it stopped being a rich man's Paintbrush, and started being a poor man's Photoshop.

Wow Integer, that was quite a rant. I can't say I agree with all of your points, but I do see your point of view. I don't see anything that Brad has done (except the hidden cameras) to be paranoid or overzealous. I've written a few apps in my time, and if any of them ever came to a commerical level, I would do everything in my power to pimp them accordingly, and would get pretty riled up if people were telling lies about them. I also read the interview on DA with TGT, and don't see any

I think that anyone who claims that payware is evil is not taking a very mature point of view on the matter. Free Enterprise is good, m'kay? People have the right to charge for their service no matter what it may be. Charging for it won't always be a success, but it's the right of the author to do so. I would be far more likely to pay for a subscription service that gives me a login to Pixtudio.com to download skin suites (hopefully a much wider range than is currently available), in mu

My personal preference visually is for the MacOS X, I was sick of the sight of Windows XP Luna before the product was even close to final What I personally prefer in skins though, is rather that OS imitation, something completely new and original that stands up to or even beats the original "big OS" skins in terms of quality. That's a lot larger task though, just do what you prefer, if you like it,

The skin suites that have come out recently are great, and no doubt worth the money that's being asked for them with the amount of work that went into them, but I'm not 100% convinced that charging for skins is a particularly viable market. The first thing that stops me from shelling out the cash is the fact that there's not skins for all of the things that I use, and plenty of skins for things that I don't use. You use the argument of convinience, but in some cases, e.g. DesktopX, that

Another beautiful skin suite from Pixtudio. I do however wonder how many people would be willing to pay for it? I don't dispute that the amount of work that went into it makes the price more than great value, but with so many other wonderful skins out there for free, is charging for skins viable?

If there is a god, and it's reading, I have decided to put together a wishlist of things that I would like to evolve: 1) Earlids. Yes, much like eyelids, but they allow me to block out the problem of noise pollution, which includes "pop music". 2) A brain better suited to multitasking. It's not that I don't listen to people on the phone, I'm just busy, maybe a better brain would help. Many people seem to already posess such a thing. They can usually be observed driving large SU

Well, for my regular workday, I'd have to say HomeSite, but as far as skinning goes it has to be Photoshop, without it I'd surely lose my mind.

Well, thanks to XP, I haven't been using WB for a while now, but WB3 and Alexandrie's first rate skins have grabbed my attention and I'm eager to get back into my evil ways. I'm just wondering if we'll see support for the new features of WB3 in SkinStudio any time soon? Cheers, AJ.

Someone put forward a very similar idea a while back, but the problem is that it's just not practical. Aside from the sheer amount of coding involved in developing a peer to peer file sharing application, having the downloads centralized allows things such as increased reliability and the ability to easily keep statistics. The only real viable alternative is to have mirrors of the site, and direct downloads to a script that chooses the mirror with the most available bandwidth. Unfortunately, not

ObjectBar is the answer to your problems, unfortuantely, it's only available on the Object Desktop Network at the moment. If you've already bought both WindowBlinds and DesktopX though, for an extra $10 you could have had the whole Object Desktop suite. I don't know if Stardock offer any kind of license upgrade scheme from individual products to OD, but if they do, then that's your best option, if not, OD is well worth $50 anyway, and next month, WindowBlinds will move to version 3, which will h

If you want a higher quality preview, use a higher quality on your JPEG, in Photoshop, this is an option when you use the "Save for Web" feature, and in PSP you can access it by clicking on the "Options" button in the save dialog when the file type is set to JPEG. I would recommend keeping file size to a minimum for the good of the site though, if you want to use 100% quality on the JPEG, try shrinking the image a little at the same time so as not to put to much of a strain on the site.

Actually the activation on it wasn't hacked, versions of WinXP that are packaged with PCs from OEMs (ie Dell, Gatway etc) will not require activation, and it was leaked from one of these sources.

You need to install WindowBlinds, a shareware version is available. To get it (or any program from this site), just click on the program name in the title of the application in any of the skin boxes in the skin sections.

I often find the trouble with old games is that they're not as good as I remember them being. I love to sit around and complain that they don't make games like they used to as much as the next person. There was one game in particular that I used to love, so about 5 years ago, I went out and found an old Sinclair Spectrum to play it on, found the game, and to my surprise, when I loaded it up, it was not very good at all. Mind you, Elite, now that was a game <img src="http://images.stardock.com/im
