I just got around to purchasing this product after playing a ton of the 2004 version and some of the 2008. Must say I'm surprised they offer even less in the 2012 version than the 2008, no campaign mode, only the option for 2012 campaign. The only bonus is that you don't have to unlock characters. Just before I purchased this I was thinking of expanding the campaign play to include my historical characters. <a href="https://forums.politicalmachine.com/34131/pag

Short sighted partisan responses here. The Republicans have held ransom the Obama administration since the beginning. 400+ filibusters prove my point and the McConnell statements that the defeat of Obama was the primary goal of the senate prove their treachery. Its become even worse since 2010 when they could hold up legislation from the House as well. This past Congress will set a record for ineptitude and lack of ability to pass anything. The Senate has become

I got about two minutes in and couldn't watch anymore. Just another propaganda piece about how the right loves America and the left hates it. Many on the right blamed America for 9/11 including Pat Robertson. It got so crazy for awhile that in the 2004 campaign the guy who avoided Vietnam was the true patriot while the guy who won the awards in Vietnam somehow was the most powerful LT JG in the history of the Navy, able to strongarm the Pentagon and his chain of command

No independent has taken a state since '68 with regional candidate George Wallace taking several states in the south. Since then there have been only two instances of an independent having any effect on the election. In '92 Ross Perot took nearly 20% of the vote nationally but not enough to win any states. He got about half of that support in 1996 but was really not a spoiler in any states. In 2000 Ralph Nader had less t

For those interested, here is a link to the 2004 game for candidates from 1928 to present, the late 19th century and the Jacksonian Era. They will of course need to be updated, but the basic info is there. https://forums.politicalmachine.com/305210

OK, how does one effect an xml file? In the original game it was simply a notepad file. Can you go into the notepad files and create new characters there or will that corrupt the system?
I would like to say that I am disappointed in the lack of third party support. There are several political parties with enough clout to have a chance at a national election. Unfortunately, the media and the election laws in various states *cough*Oklahoma*cough* are geared toward keeping the Republicans and Democrats in power.I would like to see custom candidate support in the game.
What planet is this on? Here they have

But still you can DO so much more. think about congr

These are most of the important candidates from the 20th and 19th century not included in the game. Generally more effective candidates will have more points. Alf Landon and McGovern are pretty pathetic as is shown by their results. Feel free to disagree with any of my assessments. To use these simply create a new character and go into the character files and replace it with these stats. If you want to include a picture my suggestion is this website <A href="http

A third party candidate would be a big mistake IMO. The game already has third party candidates behind the scenes. Just look at your election results and they will not add up to 100%. A third party candidate can at best be a spoiler. Ralph Nader stopped this country from having its greenest candidate in history and he was a green. Usually third party candidate with any effect will cause the loss of the main party candidate they are most like. Result, third party candidates allow those who

I have noticed that some are advocating having a camera on every streetcorner like in the UK. Another loss for our freedoms, another step towards Big Brother. Another step from freedom for the guys who gave us warrentless wiretaps, Abu Girab and Guantanamo.

Gitmo was a sign in how gutless Bush has been in his fight on terrorism. The only reason it was put there was to be outside of US judicial oversite until the matter could be brought to the Supreme Court. How do we protect our freedoms by giving them up? Torture, Gitmo, illegal wiretaps made legal after the fact and all signed off by our present Attorney General.

The fact that they are so busy shows the chaos that rules within the country. The situation is not getting better despite the surge. Its not just the press that thinks the situation is deteriorating there. Talk to the Republican congressman that have been over there. The whole plan has been a shambles from the beginning.

I bet if you did a study of the general public during the same period of time the results would be similar. This was an era when the legal drinking age was 18 and later 19. Add in the fact that seatbelts were not in use at all in the public. The numbers cited are almost all accident related. Even deaths due to illness are down. I seem to recall that during the first Gulf War there were about the same number of fatalities in the training leading up to the war as there were during the wa

Short memories. Who passed the original amnesty bill that was supposed to cure this country of illegal immigrants and protect our borders? It was Reagan and a Republican majority in the Senate.
