This article whitewashes the many problems we have had in Iraq led by the policies of the Bush administration. First off not enough troops to bring stability after taking new territory. I live in Iowa, and I personally believe the polls are going to be wrong. Democrats have outdone Republicans in registering new voters 5 to 1 and independents even beat out Republicans 2 to 1. The difference in the last election for this state was about 2 votes per precinct. For their last visits to the 2nd largest city, Cedar Rapids, Bush had about 3000 people at his rally compared to about 10,000 for Kerry. According to the latest polling Bush is
Its a mistake to try to put current political labels on historical candidates. Many times a single issue would dominate the party at the time as the religious right has changed the current Republican party and civil rights changed the Democrats in the 60s. The game does the only logical thing, it takes the party back historically. Washington was a Federalist, a party that later became the Whigs and then during a split became the current Republicans.
I found it very telling when Dick Cheney chose himself as running mate. Who else would he pick?
