I like the interface is it is more up to date. Although the style is a bit too reminiscent of MSN. Plus I find that with the extra tabs I can't make the contact list as skinny as I could before. The integrated music and games is certainly a nice addition and free unlike MSN wanting to charge for games. There are other improvements but I haven't really played with them yet and some things didn't seem like they were fully working yet. All in all I think its been long overdue as the o

I am looking forward to the changes mentioned. Some surprises as well as some things it has needed for awhile. I primarily use SDC for viewing skin updates and that can be ive based on the programs you skin, but glad the site will have it as well finally. I agree with what someone else said that often screenshots do not include enough info about the skin. The screenshot should be about that skin and only that skin, unless its a suite. Often a WB theme will show a rainlander skin(or

It should be compatible as there isn't any indication that SP2 alters the GUI in anyway that I am aware of or would affect WB. You can bet though that once SP2 is final, any bugs that do develop will be fixed by Stardock. I have heard of a couple problems with people using SP2, but since its still in beta I wouldn't say those are definitely going to be issues upon final release. <img src="http://images.stardoc

Falling a common feeling here it appears, winamp for music, winmedia for videos. Its not that you can't use the winamp for video and vice versa, just I find the implementation works better with each used for only those formats. I like the notifications now in WA modern skins and overall the skins get smaller and I prefer smaller. I don't like the taskbar method that WMP has since it doesn't skin. However still haven't found a skin I like for WA modern besides the one it comes with.

I did get a chance to catch it last night as two episodes were on in a row. It felt more comfortable to watch since it was real voices and not voice overs. I'm not against someone who speaks another language , just for me it is difficult to follow the action when the voices obviously don't match up. The show wasn't too bad though seemed a little shaky at first. Probably working the kinks out of producing it though. It still amazes me they can c

I tend to follow the rule that we have to pick the lesser of two evils when it comes to politics and voting. It is true no one is perfect, however I wish that we could have a way for politicians to be totally truthful and stop all the bull(*&%. I definitely don't feel that Bush has the people's best interest at heart in his decision making. It seems when someone becomes president it is their chance to further themselves and not the nation as a whol

I'm not much of a cook, but Iron Chef is fairly interesting. It just has always seemed a little odd because of the English translation and generally dishes or special ingredients we don't even think of having here in the USA. I missed the show, but hope to catch it eventually.

I agree with most of the article. I have tried OB a couple times, but each time came with wondering why I needed it. I suppose not everyone will have a need for it, but I didn't find any skins released for it to be an improvement over the regular taskbar. In my mind that was the purpose of OB , to improve upon that default taskbar. Naturally it could be used to add additional bars also. It will be interesting to see what OB 2.0 really brings to th

Actually if you listen to many of the most popular songs they really don't make a lot of sense. They just have a good melody and they have to sing something so any words that fit work. Ozzy despite appearing disoriented on his show which I do not watch, just seen clips, has written some wonderfully melodic songs. He may not have a way with words, but he does with melody I think, at least once in awhile.

I concur with Koasati on the position of the taskbar. It makes far more sense being on the top where most programs also place menus, etc. To place it on the side just takes up far more space than the horizontal taskbar. Perhaps once widescreens become more prevelent it will make sense to use a vertical taskbar, though by that time the taskbar may be passe. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/

It really does baffle me that people are into this guy. Someone he's got them hooked. Perhaps he is even the inspiration for a new show I just read about that is coming to the WB network. Its called Superstar USA or something like that. But its the anti-Idol because the winners will be those who sing the worst. The problem I see with this is that someone can more easily sing bad than they can sing good. Even a good singer can sing bad. I guess a

I won't miss JPL. He may have been an interesting personality, but he stunk as a singer. John Stevens better be next. He just doesn't thrill me with his old style copycat singing. I wasn't surprised Diana was in the bottom 3. She has lost the touch she had at first as a singer. Jasmine has fallen off some also. Personally I feel Latoya, Jennifer and Fantasia will be in the last 3 with George Huff making a strong statement to be there also.<BR

If no one downloaded the bright ones then I'd suggest you were correct that they aren't needed. However variety is the spice of life and I am glad we don't live in a drab world where everything is the same color. I shy away from skins that are bright myself, but that doesn't mean they should stop being made. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by

Btw Stockholm Syndicate you can choose to tell Xp which icons you want to constantly show up in the tray. Right click on the taskbar and choose properties. Then next to the icon for Hide inactive icons click the "Customize" button. Then you can choose to Always hide, or always show or hide when inactive a tray icon. Hope that helps you there. I looked at the "free" skins that came with my WC subscription and they were nice, but just not up my alley. No big deal there though, but

I use firefox and have no trouble with anything except one day recently I couldn't access stardock from anywhere. I assume that was server side and not me as things resumed working the next day. I realize firefox isn't the same as Mozilla, but they are off the same trunk.

As interesting as the idea sounds I think a better approach is better integration with Stardock products. MS has worked with Stardock a little but not nearly enough. I suppose though if Stardock got too close it would be close to becoming part of MS. However if MS provided Stardock with source code it might provide a better integration of their products into the OS. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/imag

It includes a popup blocker finally for IE as well. Not that I think that matters since if ppl want that feature they have already employed other solutions. Also the firewall is turned on by default. Although that's a good idea, I think there will be people updating to SP2 who won't realize what the firewall does and how to get programs to work nicely with it. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smi

Of course isn't the startup sound only allowed to be .wav files? Not bad but... On the reason for this post, its nice that DX can do that music I guess. However I can't see the purpose of having repeating music myself. I often listen to internet radio or something else and would find it annoying. As it is WB's that include sounds for events get old after the novelty has worn off. <img src="http://image

I think the cost is not that ridiculous. The nature of the product of ODNT is internet delivery. Obviously there are added costs into making a CD product. And as already mentioned you can simply download everything and burn it yourself if cost is an issue. I might get it as would facillitate reinstalling the programs faster if I ever needed to do that.
