Best to exclude aol.exe and waol.exe from skinning in the per application section of WB. What I do, is just exclude the title bar from being skinned. From the Windowblinds Config panel, select Per Application > add per application setting, scroll to the executable (aol.exe) Then just check exclude titlebar skinning from Feature Disabling.

in compact start mode...however in the "places" section, a bit of the text label is appearing next to the icons. Another thing you can do, which is much easier, is adjust the the left margin of the places panel - increase that margin until the text no longer appears.

Is anybody using windows blinds 5 and aol? If so notice how aol's internal web browser always appears in a weird spot and you always have to drag the window to resize it. AOL doesn't like to play with WB. What I have done, is have WB not skin the titlebar in aol only. To do this, go to the Per Application section in the WB Config window. Clic

Maryjane, I did get an empty folder the first time I tried recoloring the pack, but the second time it worked. I used a different name for it Donna, did you give the pack a completely different name, or just add to the name? What I have always done, was add the color I was making to the end of the name....for example, Silver Shine Brown (brown i

Donna, when you click on "Recolor Package", the "Ok" button will grey out. Rename the IP in the box showing, or add a word after it, and the "Ok" button will come back and let you continue. Boss, I was able to color the icons, but when I go to save, it gets done and says the icons are colored, then I keep getting a screen that says out of memory

Hi jazzy, I just tried to recolor NextOS and had no problems at all. Latest builds, same as you have. I highlighted NextOS in IP, clicked on "File, Recolor Package", Icon Developer opened, I clicked on the "Recolor Package" button, gave it a new name and then recolored and saved. This is so nuts! I tried it the way you said...this time, I got th

Using NextOS from orig posting, and assuming the new .icl is in a new folder, copy the.iconpackage file from NextOS folder, paste in new NextOS(plus color or whatever)folder, rename .iconpackage to new icon set name. I tried that, and all I get in Icon Packager is a blank file...no icons! I guess I

in icon packager, highlight the package (dont try to open it), then under the file menu, try zipping the package. that should save it as an .ip file. let me know... I can't even get it to show in icon packager. The only way I can get the file name to show is through windows explorer > Program Files > Stardock > Object Desktop > Icon Packager >

Icon developer has an update out 1.30.022 I discovered that after I wrote this. I downloaded it, but haven't tried yet to see if it fixes the problem or not.

Just recently (past couple of weeks), I have had some problems with recoloring some IP themes...specifically all of skinhit's themes, and NextOS. These are the only ones I have tried to recolor recently. What happens, Icon Developer goes all through the re-color process, then a window pops up saying "Out of Memory". Does anyone know what could be causing this? I am running Windows XP Home, SP2, have 1 gig of RAM, IP version: 3.11.104, Icon Developer version: 1.2.0, Build 1066. Any h

Anyway, i have repaired a computer with this problem before, I had to repair windows XP, as its a repair, you shouldn't lose files, ask your friend if an XP installation disk came with the computer. If so, it will be worthit to try reinstalling. If it doesn't work, its most likely a hardware problem, such as Hard Drive, memory etc. Unlikely to be processor, if there

Well chances are if you can boot to Knoppix, then you have a software issue. Some things I might do are to remove all external devices from your PC and try to boot. Have you installed any new hard/software lately? I think you will know a lot more after you try booting to Knoppix. I w

You can try a Linux Live CD to get the data off onto a removable drive (usb flash drive) before dumping the drive. Fortunately, I had backed up all his data a couple of weeks ago. I do that once a month, as he has a habit of messing up his computer, forcing me to wipe it about every 3 months or so.<b
