A friend on mine's computer all of a sudden just keeps restarting. Cannot load windows, gain access to the root directory, etc. Sometimes the boot screen will show up, other times, it won't. Checked the bios and everything looks fine there. I even changed the boot drive to the CD ROM, put the XP disk in, but it still does the restart thing. Once in a while, a BSOD will flash momentarily, but can't read what's on there....too fast. I put in a new power supply cause his was awful

I had this problem on my laptop with the first version of WB 5. When I updated to the most recent version (March 21, I think), the problem went away. I did not have the problem on my desktop though. Just a thought.

Thank you all for your comments. I discovered that my OD doesn't expire until 4/3. I originally bought Windowblinds, and a week later upgraded to OD. I will, for sure, make sure I renew both OD and the Wincustomize subscriptions!
I originally purchased just Object Desktop. Then last fall, I decided to subscribe to Wincutomize. My question is this. I think my OD subscription is up today, but I haven't gotten any notice about it. My wincustomize subscription is good till October. Do I need to continue purchasing OD, or does the Wincustomize subscription cover all that? I sure don't want to lose out on any goodies here!

I think I understand what jazzymjr is doing with the logoff background to effectively create a 'button' for the text, but the actual logoff button image part is confusing. The buttons, whether transparent or not will still be part of the button background. Make your logoff/shutdown button images 1 pixel wide each. Part of my problem is that the whole start panel is an image that is muted shades of a color, not one solid color. If I can't figure it out, I will send you the skin. I am trying to make my first transparent Start Panel. All has gone well up to this point. I decided I didn't want the buttons on there, just a button for the text (Logoff/Turn off Computer, etc.). Well I made a "dummy" transparent image to use as the buttons. However, the transparent image comes up as a black square where the button should be. If I understand you correctly, you want to use a font other than the default ones that come with SS. This is what I do when I want to include a fancy font in my skins. I click on the left side where is says Install fonts. Then I click on the 1st folder on the far right. A box will open up under the middle window. I type in the name of the font I want to be included with the wba. Then I put a copy of that font into the skin's folder.

On my pc, the processor stays at 0-1% most of the time. When I was using 4.6, it usually was around 2%, so WB5 has actually decreased in system resources for me.

Snidely, I have the themes services turned off on my laptop, but never have trouble with any blinds not loading at startup. Morpheous, I have numerous ported blinds on my computers, and have never had a problem with them loading at start up. I know I am not any help here, just commenting.
