2008

Okay, now even though i'm a Kerry supporter, there is no way he'll win Ohio. So, I've heard 2008 rumors, Clinton, JEB, McCain, obama (UNLIKELY) etc. So what is your thoughts on who you want to win.
Me-- Maybe Edwards/Clinton?

Let's make it really interesting: Michael Mooore / Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh 2008

I love Bill Clinton, but retracting the 22nd amendment would mean Bushy would also be eligible, something I do not want

Correct, but many also would be happy seeing the 22nd Amendment amended; the most likely if it was amended would allow a President to serve only two consecutive terms but seek to return after a respite. That means Mr. BUSH could not run in '08. YEAH!

Yeah, but even the thought of him being able to steal another election in 2012 makes me ill. but, I'd have confidence in Clinton.

Then, Clinton would run for re-election or maybe another strong candidate and Bush would not run.

I think Bob Kerrey has a better chance.

He's not going to run. My aunt works for him at NuSchool in New york.

I heard, but I like him. I also mentioned Powell which I also know he is not ever going to run for President. I like lieberman too, but he doesn't have any chance for 2008. He ran a very bad and weak campaign this year.

I have heard Evan Bayh is a good candidate for the Dems due to the fact he is a Senator who wins in landslide victories in the state of Indiana.
Maybe the best choice for the Dems to run a Candidate that can snag Midwest votes!! (cough...Ohio, Indiana,etc...Cough)

Plinko!!

That is why Edwards has the best chance, and having Hillary as VP would have him in the North and Mid-West.

Are you kidding. Edwards is good to look at a distance, but he will be destoryed in a real campaign. First of, since you like to look at the past Democratic presidents to show southern democrats have the best chance to get elected (that I agree with you), I also assume you have noticed that they are southern governors too? Look at both Repubican and democratic presidents. When is the last time a senator elected to be president? Past presidents are either governors or vice-presidents. Not to mention, Edwards is only a one term senator. Remember one of the weak point of Kerry's campaign is that he was not willing to talk about his senate record. Well, Edwards will be in a worse situation. He simply cannot talk about his senate record because there is none. Most importantly, being trial lawyer is not an asset.

And he would be good. The Dems neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed the mid-west. So what, we got Bayh, Edwards, Hillary, maybe Richardson? Warner (Virginia)? Anyone else?

Exactly my point, that was a long time ago. And you do know the US voting pattern changed dramatically after Reagan? The south used to vote for Democrats and the north used to vote for Republicans. A norther northeaswtern democrat governor will be very tough to win anything. Do you really think JFK is a good counterpoint to my original argument?

Some voting pattern for you (Before Reagan). Becareful, Republicans used to be represented as blue and Democrats were red.

Not sure, but if Warner runs will some of the South vote Democratic?

I think if Edwards has more experience, like being a governor. He will have a good chance. Actually, I forgot one person. Bill Richardson from New Mexico can be very powerful. HIs blessing and curse is that he is Hispanic and I think we will be much more ready for a black president than a hispanic. Oh yes, I think Warner can be very competitive if he is well-like by the time of 2008. He doesn't has to be well-like now, but he has to be like by his own state in 2008.

Wow, 1964 though Deep South-Republican
Though, in 1976 California, Jersey, Mich, IIL vote Republican
And I didn't know Reagan got 1 ev? Both had Dole has VP?

Well, back than they are not called deep south republican states, back than they are deep south democrat states. Since civil war to Reagan, the south is heavily democrat. It was not until Reagan that the entire voting pattern changed forever. The so called Reagan alignment. In his alignment, the south has converted to republican, but he made the republican lost the north. Interesting huh? Do you also know blacks used to vote for republican as late as Nixon. Nixon got more blacks vote than Kennedy if I remember right.

Yeap, Reagan Democrats. And which time for Nixon, 1960? 1968? Or 1972?
