I may as well post this one as it's probably the best I can do for this round. I think I'm beginning to understand some of the idiosyncracies that make these smaller maps different from the gigantic maps that I usually play. This game should have taken about 5 years if done efficiently. Perhaps I'll do better next time.

Ok, I know that having no game submitted loses my team 2 scores.
So here I go:

Error 12?

Since this problem started I couldnt enter any metaverse score, which is why the hitchhikers have seen no score from me as of yet. When I entered the meta league I thought that since there already was a ticket submitted on stardocks support site on this maybe they could tell me how to fix the problem before the deadline. I went to check recently and that ticket was not even there. I submitted 2 more about a day apart. Still no reply and since the meta league challenge is hours from closing I'll submit t the best of my abilities now:

It could have been 9 years but the altarians declared war on me in 2232 so I had to redirect spending to military. Even though the war turned in my favour at the 9th year it was going to be 11 years until victory becuase of so much lost time but I managed to capture 4 altarian research planets and 1 manufacturing planet before peace treaty. Even with that I had to take a loss of 132 BC a week to stay in range of 9 years. Came out with 10 years but decided to enhance my score by building a military starbase and surrounding it with three fourths of the Torian war fleet(combined navy). With 16 Bc left in my pocket before reducing spending to a profittable level(overview turn).

If there is any more proof you need, let me know.

Sorry about your trouble TP Scot. I as a player would not be opposed to your game being accepted, since you did go through all the trouble of getting and posting the screenies and such.

Is this a bitmap screenshot?

I get around 100K for a 1280x1024 screenshot as long as it's saved in JPEG format. Not sure what format would require a 2MB+ file but try saving in JPEG and see what size you get.

I took the liberty and summarized the games submitted so far. There still are a good handful of folks that haven't submitted a game yet.

Elwood mention a couple of games but hasn't yet committed on any particular game yet. Also Embird submitted a game but I'm not sure she's been assigned a team, if not she should be. Also I assume TP_Scot's posting is sufficient. I did have to dig a bit through the player profiles to get all the info. I didn't break them down into their respective teams.

Anyway this is just a listing of games posted to this point. Hopefully this helps neilo out when it comes time to go through them all.

Actually that would have required me to look up your character name in the other thread which was a bit of a pain at the time.

Darth could also still show up with a score because I think it doesn't end until tonight at midnight unless I'm reading it wrong.

Also I'm a little confused about the roster. I have to admit that I found it difficult to find a lot of the necessary information scattered about on three threads. The best roster I found was neilo's reply #46 in "The Metaverse League Player sign up & Roster" thread but I think this isn't totally complete because some other folks continued to join after this occured. I'm not totally sure that TP Scot's list is complete although it does seem so at first glance. But I did think that we had 3 of the four teams at 5 players each at my last rememberance.

I suggest that for each round a new thread should be started (by the commissioner) and that the first post contain all relavent information such as team rosters, game to be played and scoring rules. I also suggest that -1 for a deafeat and -2 for a non submission is a little harsh and that this should be changed to 0 for a defeat and -1 for non submission. Also the questions comes in for teams with 5 players whether or not a negative score as the lowest score gets dropped or not. I think a penalty for not submitting a game should probably still apply in this case. Anyway these are just suggestions.

Actually perhaps 0 for defeat and leave non submission at -2. I think that posting a defeat even if it was the longest game shouldn't be as bad as not posting anything at all.

There is still time, plus check the blade runners score, it will be 8...Plus we said any team with the odd number would lose the lowest score, and not have it counted. Let's forget Jeremy, he never said boo about playing, and the lowest score for Team C which has 5 players would be Darth's no show.

Ummm.... no mumble. We have 2 teams of 5 and 2 teams of 4. Check Neilo's reply #70 for a more up to date version of the list. I also saw #47 but decided to check the 2nd page for another one and I found #70.

Team C and D had 1 extra player. I think upon closer inspection you'll find the list is in fact complete. I edited it 5 times and checked the player submitions manually. As well as reference to your VERY helpful list.

In Darth's case he did mention a game in our private forums at the core.
He didnt submit it though. But as I read in the rules the player with the lowest score would not have his score count, correct?

OK fine. However, as this perhaps points out, it would be better if we didn't have to scrounge through 47 or 70 posts in a thread to figure out what the roster is. That's why I suggested that we have a new thread for each round and the first post summarizes everthing related to the rounds roster, game type and scoring just so there's a single place for everyone to look.

Actually, I still think it should be the goal to get Kryo to incorporate the MV League into the AltMeta in some fashion or other so that we have a clean and consistent method for submission as well as a view of current and past performances. This would eliminate the
the hand counting that we currently have. I know Kryo had mentioned awhile back that he didn't have the time to spend on the AltMeta and I'm not so sure that anything has substanstially changed in that regard but I hope folks will join me in encouraging Kryo to consider adding an interface for the MV League into the AltMeta. Do people agree that this is something they would like to see?

Finally there is some confusion between the interpertation of midnight as the last instant of the current day, or, since it's often represented as 12:00am, the first instant of the next day. I think in the future it would be easiest to let the Metaverse submission date be the rule and if the last day to submit is the 13th of August then any submission that says the 13th or earlier is fine and any saying the 14th or later is too late, it's not even necessary to mention a time.

Technically, not yet. The contest doesn't end for another 12 and 1/2 hours at this point. Darth could still submit a game. Or possibly others could amend their games.

I'm not sure but I think we have allowed folks to change their minds a bit through this thread. At the least people have mentioned a game or two and then later came back to specify which one was to be counted.

Also technically we're submitting a metaverse posting and AFAIK you can resubmit the same game once for better score or whatever the reason. I don't think this has been done but I personally don't see a big problem with it.

In any case we do still have now 12 hours and 25 minutes to go.

I'm pretty sure that the games submitted are final. That is, if they're submitted here in this thread, as far as the rules go. If a re-submit could happen for instance, I could re-submit my game after playing it another year. That would net another 8k - 9k points, but would bore me to tears.   You could then do the same with yours.

I like the "first game submitted here overrides all others" rule. It makes it more interesting.
