I make a test modding the bonus of the party to have a full sensor coverage in 4 different games. A cumulative bonus for the fleets would fit well. Regarding the customization of the player's race a system like that of Master of Orion 2 for custom races would be perfect. A weird thing is that in the foreign politicy screen defeated races continue to exist even after their demise untill the next turn after the take over of their last star system...you can even make treaties and exchange techs with them even if they don't exist anymore...

I prefer the neutral alignment because I can make an alliance virtually with everyone balancing useless events with good choices and the usefull events with evil ones. Btw usually I play with the preset alignment of the alien races.

I have some suggestions about star system assault. For example I have noticed that the AI tends to send the troop transports alone (even at the infamous "incredible" level) with the result that they fall prey of light vessels that pop out from the systems under siege. The combat transport is able to defend itself quite well, but it isn't enought against the capital ships. As a result I see often that advanced empires employ months to conquer a minor civilization that have only one star syste
