Comparison with Other Strategy Games

Stardock Forums
I'm a newcomer to this game, while at the same time I can consider myself an "expert" of this type of games (I've also developed a few of them).
I'm currrently playing the fourth game of GalCiv and overall I'm very satisfied with the gameplay and the depht of the stategy itself.
On the other hand, there are some very weak points that, if not addressed quickly, can put this games well below other games of the same genre. The game that best compare with GalCiv is Stars! (IMMO). I strongly suggest the developers to have a look at that great game in order to make GalCiv a really perfect one.
:notsure:
In short terms the main problems I found are:
1- The game is too easy (even if I've not yet played at Increadible level), I won at all other levels... it seems the AI can easily be improved (unescorted convoys, often the computer players fight each other without allying against the human player etc...)
2- The battles are very disappointing: if you stack a fleet of powerful ships apparently you have little advantage against single enemy ships. This is a way far too little realistic... On the other hand, with a battleship, I can't destroy 10 colony ships stacked togehter because I need 10 movement points...??? The perfect would be to have a tactical battle display (as in Stars!) where fleets can combat. If it is too complex, at least a cumulative effect for stacked ships shall be implemented.
3- The races are not customizable. In addition to the various initial parameters (e.g. economy, military etc...) there should be some specific abilities that the player can choose at the beginning and that cannot be acquisred trough the game e.g.: some ships, building, research are only avaiable to a certain race, some special abilities like: survival in hard planets, hypergates, living and reproduction on transports or starbases etc....
I'd like if other players would comment and let me know if they share my thought as well.
