I actually read there are some problems with doing this because the fan drivers are not loaded by windows which will keep the system fans from operating. While this may not be a huge deal for desktop systems, it's a killer for laptops and can cause them to overheat.
I personally use NOD 32 and I love it. I can't even tell it's running in the background but when you do come across that infected file it is very efficient at stopping them before any harm is done.
DX Pro will open widgets so will the starndard DX. But I haven't found my self able to import Gadgets (stand-alone) with either of them. Perfect! I've actually done something similar to what you've suggested but I'm actually using different keys and salt values to encrypt each password, and I have developed a system to re-create the proper information when it comes time to decrypt the data. hmmm, this is something that could be done with a little scripting. You could create custom shortcuts that use a script for the apps you want to launch in a particular place. Within the script you could use WSH to launch the app, and Win32 FindWindowEX to find the window and then I don't know of the API off hand but I know there are API's to resize and move windows onscreen.

install the TweakUI powertoy from microsoft and find the section that lets you choose which icons to display on your desktop. If the recycle bin has a check by it, clear the check hit apply and then check it again. That should put the recycle bin back on your desktop.

SO, if you have a laptop with say an IDE hardrive and you buy an OEM, do you need cables to attach it or can you use what is already in place? Laptops do not require cables typically to connect hard drives. You just place the hard drive where your old one was and slide it into place.
I have all of the latest patches on my machine and logons still work. Did you run LogonStudio after you installed it and did you apply a logon that came with it or one that you downloaded? If you lock your computer using WinKey+L does the logon you applied show up? Are you getting any errors in your Event viewer?
