just because Windows comes with a WMP, Outlook Express and IE, it doesn't stop people installing alternatives such as Winamp, Firefox and Thunderbird Ah, but if you ask some developers they will tell you that it does. Netscape has tried for years to convince anyone that would listen that their demise was all Microsoft's fault. Forget that their bro

I wish, but until I have an HD TV it's not really worth it. I've played one, and they are awesome. You can do so much with them and the games are simply fantastic, for the most part. Anyway, I'll probably aim at getting one around the Halo 3 timeframe!

You don't seem to understand tongue-in-cheek humor Of course, labeling your previous post as humour implies it has even the slightest element of humour for those of us who aren't sitting with you at your desk as you type it to pick up on. Which your statement had not an inkling of humour to it. <

what does this say about Stardock's code in general? I'm sure if it says anything, it says that it's holding up pretty well considering it was probably written before these issues were even comprehended. If you're trying to infer that the code on this site is sub-standard, I think you need to re-evalu

that intellitext or whatever is showing up in your and Jafo's posts even though I signed in Same here.. Extremely annoying, I hate that *feature* on sites!! Update: Submitting new comments scrolls page back up to the top when it refreshes.

Since no one else seems to know I'll take a shot. I'm pretty sure that isn't possible, at least not without writing some Windowblinds style OS hooks that dynamically rearrange explorer windows. Your first problem is that the dialog in your example was designed to have the FS browser extend from the top of the window to the bottom, and the thumbnail section is only designed to extend from the right of the dialog to the left of the FS viewer section. So,

Psikotik, you're a braver man than I am to make such requests but I do agree with you at least on item #1.. I can't say I agree too much on the colors suggestion though as I find the skins with light color schemes are typically the only ones I can use for an extended amount of time. Being colorblind, contrast is really important in a skin and it seems that the darker the skin is, the less contrast there seems to be and therefore the less likely I am to

One thing about computers as in many things, the more you know about them, the better off you are I agree with you there, after all I am a programmer by trade but that doesn't mean I have 6 or more hours to waste on installing a video card. In that 6 hours I could completely re-build my computer inclu

2.95 gcc compiler installed and setup for gcc and cc to work correctly This above a beyond all else will keep anyone but computer saavy users from ever trying Linux. The thought of having to recompile bits of your OS in order to play a game is incomprehensible to 99% of the computing world..

well, send an e-mail to SD and see if they respond. You are using the free version so if it doesn't work you're just kind of on your own. I can tell you however that the paid version works just fine on AMD 64 processors because that is what I use and I never have any problems.

BTW....highlighting text to 'quote' from the initial thread post does not work This has been a known problem with FF for ages.. It's actually a problem in FF though so I don't know whether it will be fixable until it's fixed in FF. Seems to be a problem in the order that certain events are fired in FF

I had a brand new Enermax 480w for a new system that I put together 2 months ago and it was nothing but problems Sounds like you got a bad unit. It happens, and problems like that aren't caused by bad design or a bad product but it was just bad luck. I've personally never had a single problem with an

Here's the one I bought recently: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817194004 It has seperate power connectors for PCI/Ex video cards and all of the cabling is modular. Only use the cables you need for the devices in your computer. I've had the PWS for a few months now and have had no problems whatsoever.

going onto Win's web What exactly is Win's web? Ever thought that your problems may be just that your problems. Seeing as you don't contribute to this site by buying a membership I don't really see that you have any room to talk. Sure, you bought some software from SD, ok go get your content somewhere

If you open a file to edit it will save the original before saving any modificated version I'm not sure whether you're being difficult intentionally or what but I would tend to agree with Zubaz. I don't want to have to open EVERY file in my documents folder(s) just to get KeepSafe to make a reference

Here's some info on the process: http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/LVCOMSX/ If you don't want it to run remove the Logitech camera software and return the web cam, or send Logitech a message and let them know you don't appreciate that they bundle extra crap with their drivers. As far as ZA not alerting you that the apps are running that is probably because the programs are not accessing the

Now, one could argue that Apple develops Macs to sell OS X, but I'll remain unconvinced until I see something that supports such a view What more do you need to be convinced than the fact that Apple only supports OS X on their hardware? If Apple wasn't in the hardware business to sell their software t

I'm not tech savvy enough to explain why some AV proggies scan deleted files, but I do know that the OS cannot completely remove them from the drive, even after reformatting Who knows, maybe I'll check out this Sure Delete and see what it finds on my PC. Now, as far as Norton is concerned c

This bold move will also make it so dell starts selling AMD based machines I wouldn't call it a *bold* move. Maybe a slick business maneuver, but there's nothing bold about it. DELL has been looking for a way to offer AMD chips for quite some time but they are so thoroughly entrenched with Intel that
