If I'm not mistaken, on Nightmare difficulty the game actually gives greater benefits to the AI - allowing them to essentially cheat - to make the game more difficult to human players. I only play on Nightmare, and find that it merely draws the game out longer rather than making it more difficult if you play correctly. I believe they receive more gold, experience and health regeneration - I don't have any hard cold facts, just something I've observered during my time with the game.</p

Glad to hear things are still moving forward, however I've all but stopped playing Demigod online now until the online issues are fixed, I simply don't have time to sit and attempt to play for several hours a night in the hopes of getting a game working, and praying to the (demi)Gods that other players or myself aren't disconnected before the game is finished.

I renamed the file and connected to a game, and I was still disconnected as per usual. However, after I renamed the file back to what it was originally, I tried a different game and was actually able to play all the way through despite taking over an hour. Not sure if renaming the file had much to do with it, but I was certainly very happy. Also, I've noticed that no matter what game I play I get one or two short pauses, around 2-3 seconds, during the game. I'd call them lag spikes, h

I have a simillar issue, however mine usually occurs in the mid-end part of an online game. I'm not sure if everyone is disconnected as well, however I end up in a game without just AI players. Usually there's a significant pause - upwards of 10 seconds - before this happens. I haven't been able to figure out what seems to be the cause of this - however from time to time I'm also experiencing this in single player, however this isn't happening as often since the most recent patch. I'l

Title says it all: When I attempt to join any multiplayer game, the moment I fail to connect to any player before the patch I'd just manually cancel back to the Main menu. Now after the patch, Demigod crashes - I have to alt+tab to actually get to the error message however as the game just freezes on the screen. Here is a complete copy of the error message: Unhandled exception: bad allocation Program : C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demi

Steam doesn't offer refunds for their games - and many non-AAA titles on Steam don't have a Demo - just reams and reams of promotional material that makes every game look like the next Half-Life 2. The Devs did mention they were planning on getting a Demo out, however they've prioritised getting the connection issues with their existing customers fixed first. I can only assume after the connection issues are working, and perhaps a bug fix/balance patch has been released, a demo will b

Thanks for the offical word Bara! I'm curious though, I updated my Account Name to ZehDon the day I bought Demigod, the 17th of April. Today, my name in Demigod is still my original account name, dtickner. Does your automated job simply hate me because I'm Australian, or is there something wrong?

Yeah, I was certainly one of them. Being then as towers don't link together, the effectiveness of Rooks towers mid game, when they're still weak yet Demigods are fairly tough, is then significantly lowered.

Sharing files around your pre-existing network, i.e. you to one of your college-based friends, wouldn't have the same effects as, say, sharing with someone from Finland and so you wouldn't notice the throttling of your network data. Being as you are all experiencing this problem it appears you'll need to wait for the Proxy Servers to be set up in order to play online. Don't worry, I'm in your boat too. In the mean time, in order to play online with your friends, you should be

I verified the install, no problems, and I cleaned out my tower. I played a single player game last night, which stuffered from no hanging. I also stress tested my PC with a 5V5 Skirmish Game, and used FRAPS to get a decent look at my FPS and I seemed to move between around 35-60 depending on how far zoomed out I was, so it doesn't appear to be anything relating my hardware. I'm confused :( My home network is very, very simple: [PC] -->--> [SpeedTouch Modem] -->-->

Nearly everyone is experiencing this, it's not just you. There's nothing much we can do it fix it, so we're now waiting for the reflection, or proxy servers, to go up which might help. In the mean time, have you checked out the Port Forwarding guide The_Monk put up and checked your network settings to make sure your on par with everyone else?

I agree with Ren, it sounds like a simillar problem another forum-goer had with his University's network. When the reflection, or Proxy, servers go out it should fix this problem for you and your friends. Have you tried playing over LAN, or using the network programs Hamachi or Game Ranger? These third-party programs are fixing simillar problems for other Demigod users, you should look into them. Best of luck.

Issuing orders while zoomed out removes the need for an interactive mini-map, however a shift-click feature similar to Supreme Commander's would be a welcome change.. The current mini-map is there as more of a "at-a-glace" view of the map rather than an actual Mini-map - it's why we're able to zoom out so far. As for changes to the score screen, any player beside yourself with a Zero (0) Ping is an A.I. You can assume this player has disconnected or been kicked for whatever reason. If

The sure-fire method for changing your name is to create a new Impulse account with the desired Name, and merge your old and new account together. This will change your name in Demigod and not effect with products you have access to via Impulse. This is a run-a-round fix, however. Stardock are aware of the problem, and if I recall they're planning on introducing a way to change your Demigod Nick Name without having to change your Account Name in the near future.

I'd be happy to see even weekly updates once the serious connection issues have been resolved. It would help keep the community in the loop as to what the developers are looking into and what they've prioritised. This level of communication is heads and shoulders above the rest of the industry - keep it up!

I wish I could join you with a big smiley emoticon, however I'm still experiencing the same issues, and have noticed zero change. I'm glad it's fixed it for you, and others, however I'm still waiting for these new reflection serves to be set up. Hopefully then I can post that smiley emoticon.

This has been raised a few times. When you play online, it resets your favour points - I can only speculate that it has something to do with trying to keep track of Single Player and Multi-Player favour points - and when you buy something some weird maths take place and you end up with Negative Favour points. It's a known issue, and I believe it's being worked on. It's certainly annoying, as is the achievements resetting.
