People mostly attribute Steam's success to being the first major developer/publisher to produce a DDN and putting enough time into it to ensure it snow-balled into what it's become today. I attribute Steam's success to the fact they shackled it to Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source which, at their release, were the most sought after games in history. They forced every Half-Life 2 player to use Steam, ensuring people had the program on their computer, just to play t

Yes, Game Ranger does use P2P however it's more in the fashion of how the Proxy severs will operate rather than strickly P2P. If Game Ranger is allowing Demigod to work without any issues, I would expect the Proxy Servers Stardock are getting ready to fix your problem - as well as mine. edit: Since TF2 uses a server/client model rather than a P2P model I think it's safe to say that the University network limits P2P activity to spare bandwidth. Wait for the new servers to go

The losing sides receive a richly detailed boxed set of DVDs titled "Demigod - Path to Godhood" featuring video of 12 tips and hints in detail on how to fare better next eon including developer secrets. However, upon loading the DVD into their DVD players Rick Astley's 'Never Gonna give you up' plays.

I play several games that are fairly taxing, such as Supreme Commander, and they don't hang like Demigod. I'll certainly give the cleaning a try - however as I downloaded the game I'll just verify the install through Impulse instead of re-installing. Thanks for the advice.
It IS partial nudity. Go back to your bible
Thank you for mocking someone who asked a simple question in a polite manner. I feel much safer knowing people who aren't fans of seeing semi-naked female characters in video games will be mocked by people like you. God forbid someone should have a different opinion to you.

Sounds like the problem is certainly with your end. Do you have any other non-World of Warcraft online games you play? Use them as a comparison with Demigod to see how the Ping difference stacks up. Also, do you run a software Firewall or other internet based applications? They might be slowing Demigod?

Until the connection and disconnection issues are corrected, any kind of penalty for quitting the game is going to penalise a lot of innocent players. Once these issues are fixed, I'm all for punishing quitters. You learn a lot more from losing than you do from winning.
wrong. its not faster. it just shoots all from same place. so that tower looks fast so if 8 towers next to eachother. they shoot 1 time per second ... then one of those towers will shoot 8 in the second
Ah, sorry mate - thanks for the correction. Using this, we could actually create long links using Rook's Towers and essentially "move" the Tower's combined DPS away from it's original point while still maintaining it's

As Demigod connects directly to a player as opposed to a static server you'll find your MS can vary quite a bit. There's not really much advice I can give for lowering your Ping besides ensuring Demigod is the only internet application running on your PC. Playing with other Americans closer to you will help improve your general experience. I myself am an Australian and am forced to play against mostly other Australians to ensure low Pings. Also, since your using a University Network a

Although I've been encountering the same connection problems as most users on the forums, when I have been able to find a game I'm disconnected after around 20 minutes of play time when the game 'hangs'. At first I thought the reason for the hang was because I disconnected and it was inputting A.I. players; the additional load caused my PC to 'hang' for several seconds. However, after playing a lot of Single Player, the same thing occurs apparently for no reason. I'm running

Hahaha, awesome. Personally, I think Demigod is worth the price Tag. In Australia, the game cost me just under $59 dollars, and considering most Games retail for $100.00 it's a bargain. Now, it's not a full game - it's really just the entry level part of what will become a much larger game. For the price I paid, I am happy with what Demigod has to offer.

Rooks Towers, and his Shoulder Mounted Tower, don't receive the upgrades purchased from the Citadel, however as with ant Tower - the closer they are together, the more linked Towers you have. The more linked Towers you have the faster they fire essentially increasing the DPS output. Using a combination of prebuilt, Rook created and the Shoulder Mounted Towers the Rook can make your defenses unbreakable.

Theres a lot of different ways to play Rook, however his biggest strength is his durability and it's best to use this as best as possible. Using a combination of Favour items and the +Speed boots at the start of the game, Rook can get into and out of the battle quickly and it helps him be a constant moving wall of death. If your playing against quick attackers like UB, then throw your first point into Towers, they'll help herd the enemy early game. If your playing against slower

I think the fact that over 100,000 people downloaded the game before it's street date means Demigod has spiked a lot of peoples interest. In my general web going experience most of the piraters I've come across admit to downloading a game as sort of a full demo - games aren't cheap and companies like EA Games can use their large budgets to produce a lot of really good looking promotional material and sucker you in. Take a kook at SPORE. Greatest concept for a video game ever, amazing technolo

I'm on Windows Vista, and I downloaded Demigod through Impulse. The default install directory is: Program File > Stardock Games > Demigod Mine seems to update fine. Assuming Impulse works the same way as Steam does, once the game is in the default directory when it's added to your Impulse's list of the games - add product or whatever it's called - it's verified and updated.

This is a common problem, I've had it myself. When playing Pantheon, although it's also happened during a Casual game as well, the points are reset. Then some weird maths take place and you have your negative numbers. I've given up on achievements and the items until Demigod gets patched.

I have a simillar problem. I changed my Account Name to what you see on the forum, however my in game nickname appears to be stuck as the original Account Name. The sure-fire fix is to make a new account and merge the two together, however it's really not something I want to do. Changing your in game nickname is something that should be easy and painless.

I've only come across a handful of other Aussies. I'm hoping when the street date hits that more people will be picking it up. Feel free to add me to your friends list, dtickner. Also, that reminds me - is there a way to change your in-game nickname?
