And what in the name of a Drengin's hairy whiskers is wrong with Wishupona?? I just edit any star names when I colonize, myself, if I feel the name is toooooooo stupid. I still think the simplest thing is on starting a New Game, the player gets an option: Use Founder Names for Stars or Use Generic Names For Stars...

I'd be happy if they made a mini-Football Manager system for battles: You pick the ships you want to do the attacking, which if your ships attacks which one of the enemy ships, how those attacks occur (tell your ships not to waste time firing their missiles/only fire missiles at frigates/whatever), rules for withdraw/protect based on the situation (outnumbered, damaged etc). Then press Play and cross fingers.... Which sounds like what Ryat's suggesting. So, sweet. I gu

Sounds as if Illauna would prefer a constant state of war/near war.... A: I guess the ultimate question for the developers is: Ultimately, which type of Victory do we want our players to go for? This has it's roots in the developers asking themselves "Which type of Victory would I go for?" Therefore, the developers spend x hours plotting how players get any particular victory but within that always allowing - by a range of means some subtle, some not - a

"That's not a moon, that's Land Of The Mole!" "On planets that surrounded the Star PurpleBirkyJCMJ, the rebels planned their assault!" "Come! See and tremble at our military might, based on planets in our home system, where it's very name fuels the Drengins' nightmares - Binary Toast!! " Just going through the approved list... Don't get what people mean when they say the Star names "ruin the immersion". I mean, if you want GalCi

Maybe make this another choosable option on startup? The longest thing to implement/do would seem entering whole bunch of names that the game would have as a Serious/Realistic Star Name Database that it would use if the Players chooses. This would maybe end up as various combinations of Letters and Numbers (welcome to XLFVPT Star 42 , sorry XLFVP ..S Star 41? Um, 400,000,000 miles over dere, go thata-way 100,000,000 miles, turn left at the black hole, run like hell past the D

Yes, as a Founder, I'm looking forward to showing all the newbies the wonderful ideas I had for GalCiv3 that the fools never implemented... And, lo, the people who purchased Galactic Civilizations 3 from this day forth shall weep and despair that my plans were never taken on board by Stardock and shall speaketh "But where, where, can we get such an incredible game of which mrblondini foresaw and greater than that which Stardock hath given us?" and lo, such as are modders amo

Could it be possible to set the system up so it recognizes it's you playing and automatically makes the star you named have one or more class 26 planets around it? So, whatever map size, cluster, yadayada, you always have YourNamedStar with at least on class 26 planet to go to. Making it your starting spot would work, too, of course. If SD don't want to make it that you either already automatically start on YourNamedStar or have easy access to it, have an Eve

I agree the snakey thing looks weird but honestly if it's one "bug" that never gets fixed I'm not going to be particularly concerned. And who knows? Maybe in the 2200s (if we're that developed) spaceships will move like that. Maybe they could add something like how your battleship crew have developed spaceshipsickness from zigzagging across to the Drengin planets and can someone else protect the transports please while we barf?...

I've just noticed a crash to desktop every time I try to Manage my Starport. I'm on Turn 450, medium map. I've got 5 Paladins (playing as Terran, in a one-on-one against the Drengin). Everything else seems hunky dory. The thing is, I get this CTD also when I try to delete that starport's sponsors so I can transfer them to another one (I thought I could just transfer my ship builders to another starport but nope.) If I leave the starport alone churning out more Paladins then it

Could be a bug, could be the way things are set up but: I'm playing as the Terrans and have attacked the Drengin to my opposite left and have in fact killed them off - they have no planets, the one starport and a couple of ships left alive have gone white. I know I could go off and kill the Alterians but I'd like to be done with the Drengin first. It now appears I can't kill them or seize control of them. Obviously no major problem as I can just skirt by them, igno

Add me to the "Tough Titty" list. I'll assume that you're extremely good at 4X and, yep, playing Galactic Civilizations 3 right now is beans supremo. You know how to work the research, how to get Planetary Invasion the quickest way possible and look, after 50-60 turns you've won the game. Good for you. Not being such a kickass 4Xer, I spent too much time farting around with the early research so it took me a while to get Planetary Invasion (I researched Dip

androshalfor, I like like like that idea... I mean, I'm playing the game anyway but it'd be the cherry on top for me if something like this was implemented. Rigging UP votes would also be interesting...IE Spies knowing that in, say 15 turns there will be a vote on sharing resources from a newly discovered asteroid field/bunch of destroyed planets and we heavy the Drengin to vote that our civilization gets the lion's share of the resources and offer nice t

Yeah, espionage's problem for me was when I'd spend money and time getting spies and placing them, and then ending up getting to share a certain number of research items with other races anyway - which is, IIRC, after a UI vote. I wasn't sure also how effective the "steal a technology" gig was, either - that is, your spies actually doing what they're paid for as opposed to the Random Event. What I'd really like to see with the espionage is an ability to undermine r
