Fuel cells aren't the full answer either because fuel cells only store energy. They're not energy sources. That energy has to come from somewhere. You can't just scoop up some hydrogen and put it into a box. It takes a lot of energy to power hydrogen fuel cells That's an excellent point than many peopl

Is Larry Thurlow in the game, too? It would be worth a court martial to plug his ass with some hot lead
Why doesn't anyone ever mention the THOUSANDS of military residents of Florida who were deployed around the world at the time and had their absentee ballots thrown out for lack of post-marks (because the military does not use a USPO post mark)? Agreed, wingman. Not to mention the Democrats are
"If George Bush were to be re-elected, given the way he has gone about this war and given his avoidance of responsibility in North Korea and Iran and other places, it [The Draft] is possible. I can't tell you." - John Kerry (from the associated press)
That’s not stopping Kerry from saying that Bush has secrete plans to bring back the draft. In fact the only person who has submitted anything starting a new draft in the last 25 years is Congressmen Charlie Rangel (D) from New York. Notice the "D" after his name. Yeah and the corresponding Senate b
I think you could arguably say Israel, too, yes?
yeah, I've been looking for that bible banning plank in the Democratic platform, but I can't find it... Even as a liberal atheist I would never consider banning the Bible.
Excuse me but what do you call, "He never completed his guard duty"? I'd call it a non-story that certain members of the left have been beating like a dead horse. But this "I know you are but what am I" stuff is beneath ya, drmiler. Neither side is going to stop smearing. There's just going to have
Weren't some of those hijackers on watch lists?
I'm a regular Guardian reader, but I somehow missed this article. Thanks for posting it.
*laugh* Yeah, I posted on one of those mailings last week. In West Virginia, I think it was. The GOP scare tactics are amazing.
a country now to then If we want to really compare Iraq now and then, there's a lot of history to look at. This IS the fertile crescent we're talking about. The people of this area have been under some form of dictatorial government for several thousand ye
I've wondered why this hasn't garnered more response. The Washington Post has a section called "Faces of the Fallen," and I've learned about a couple of old school chums who have been killed from that site. I can understand the President not wanting to sensationalise flag covered coffins, but I think he should pay more attention to these brave soldiers than he has done.
but flip-flopped and opposed them in WW2 Hmm. America helped build the Japanese war machine during the 19th century. Amazing that we were bitten by the monster we created. Should we never give arms to other countries? Boy, this isn't an issue that has a solid yes/no answer. I think recent history h
Yeah, my own senior senator was part of this "we can run the government on incense and peppermints" tax BS. great post.
I mean hell, you'd think the Department of Homeland security and changes between the FBI/CIA hand't happened. Bush originally opposed both and only relented after pressure. A flip flop? No, I wouldn't say so, I'd just call it changing one's mind to do the right thing.
I trapped you with your own words. I admitted that I was partisan. I'm not the author of the piece, though, I don't really think it's partisan. I posted it just as a thoughtful piece on putting the situation in Iraq in different terms. You could write the same type of piece about any number of situat
Let us put our heads together to reform it instead of just quick fixing it with socialized healthcare. hear, hear!
The 1998 bombing was just one instance of bombing in Iraq during the Clinton years, though. I'm working on a post detailing Iraq dealings during the Bill Clinton years, just to be a bit more fair. Democrats, both in the Congress and Clinton/Gore executive branch have been guilty of their own hypocrisies.
"The China Threat" by Bill Gertz THanks, I'll have to look into it. I came up with far, far more information on this subject than I included in the article -- and I agree GX, China's been doing quite a lot of sabre rattling regarding Taiwan -- including some of the biggest military exercises ev
I like the analogy. Very well written.
I'm not the original author of this piece, but I thought it made some interesting points. Polls are still showing that Iraqis are happy that Hussein is out of power, and if that's what a majority of people in the country are saying, far be it from me to say "oh no, they're worse off now."
On another thread, GX posted that "china makes Iraq look like the land of gandhi," which is amusing and completely correct. So I wanted to take a break from picking on the Iraq war and do a bit of research into China. Despite all of the rhetoric, economic interests have always taken precedence over human rights. I could be partisan and say that this is only a Republican phenomenon, but that would be a bald-faced lie. Bill Clinton and other
