Thanx, J.E., from saving me the time explaining that and for providing a credible source link. ChemicalKinetics, I like your reasoned post...let me reply later...

They'll never find a gay gene. End of story.
1.)It was about how the campaign was geared toward the Christian evangelics 2.)This was a masterful political ploy it has NOTHING to do with Kerry haters or Bush haters motivated anyone 3.)Bush is not really a devote Christian nor will he overturn abortion or ban gay marriage. All of that was just political spin to win the vote. 4.)T
Guess you forgot about the 18th amendment? The 16th? The 22nd? Not a very good history scholar, are you? Hmm...the 16th amendment allowed the government to institiute payroll taxes, and the 22nd created presidential term limits, the 18th amendment was repealed. Far cries from an amendment defining a civil liberty for two different groups of people, aren't able to pick very apt examples, are you? Do you know the oil sa
Somehow, I think somebody missed the point... Good article, steve.
No Hillary, no way.
Goodbye, Sandy, take care.
Ah, I finally get back to my the wonderful JU forum to check up on old posts. Bush supporters still echoing talking points from Fox? Check. Sudden disappearance of class from some on the left and right? Check. Country still without change? Check. People still claiming Bush policies to be wonderful, thinking people voting for Bush makes everything okay? Check. Just came by to get my *check*. T
Possibly so, however this is not my argument. (gives stern glance to deference) Okay, just checking, sorry for the late reply...
You make an excellent point on the "war on terror" and the war in Iraq. It seems like Bush supporters were willing to defend his b.s. decision(s) in Iraq simply to elect someone they felt they could identify with.
"I know," she says, "But now their eyes are open." Open only to be price gouged out. Healthcare premiums, gas, outsourced jobs...the list goes on of expenses that have snowballed under this administration. Enjoy paying for natural gas to heat your home this winter, if you get too cold, you may have to visit the hospital where you are uninsured, but because you can't afford gasol
You may be able to spin that to a half wit but I'm still laughing that you might actually believe that. You're laughing 'cause YOU know for sure what Ms. Jackson's intent was? She was dancing at a football game, not posing for Playboy. You've nothing to back that up, so keep laughing, it'll cover my snide chuckle. Ugh....In time, I hope the left gets past it's denial phase. Denial of ....??? Yeah,
A wonderfully melancholy piece, Iron!
Very good, shadesofgrey.
It really all started becoming clear at the Superbowl. When Janet Jackson's breast was displayed for all to see, the left's reaction was "Get over it!" and "Deal with it!" They showed no respect whatsoever for the values of the majority of Americans who are trying to raise children in the way they see fit. Wouldn't you say this reaction from people was because it was obvious this was simply
You can only call people "morons, idiots, red necks, homophobes, jesus freaks, racists, bigots, etc." so many times before they get fed up and decide to come out and make sure those people who say those kinds of things are thwarted. What pisses me off so much about this argument is that I know you're a lot smarter then this, Drag. . Democrats called Republicans naughty names so they got angry and voted Bush like they never vot
It was HIGHER this year than since 1968! It doesn't matter, though. Only 65% (at most) registered voters actually voted this year. Had even 2 - 3% of the 35% who failed to show, voted Kerry, we probably would have a different Commander in Chief.
In reply to post 19, Grim. I gotta' say that the title, which seems to serve as the thesis for SPC's article is precisely what I addressed. The implicit argument of "agree or leave" is conducive as an example of fascism at work.
..thanks anyway Grim...
Move on or move out seems to be the new "support the troops". A way of framing an argument so that those who disagree with the administration and his followers are simply blacklisted. That's not America that's fascism. I'm ashamed for you, SPC.
I'm curious as to why this issue is even being brought up. Did I miss something?
Doesn't sound plausible to me, Qing.
I think what is hard for some to believe is that the majority of voters felt that voting for George Bush and his policies was a good idea. I have a feeling many didn't use that requisite, however, and simply voted for who they thought best represented their cultural identity.
Maybe you should look at a map of republicans vs democrats on a county by county map. The republicans outnumber the Dems. As I mentioned before above that some who would have voted Democrat didn't show up because they were not motivated or disciplined enough. Bush supporters, Republicans, are more frequent voters who were galvanized by their ide
When a democrat has such a hard time distinguishing his proposed policies from that of a "conservative" Republican, I'd say he's moderate. He's also moderate compared to Howard Dean, or Kucinich. LIeberman wouldn't pull zip for votes from Republicans 'cause they're too busy voting Republican. How many "liberal" Republicans have you met, recently, anyway? Why would they vote for Lieberman who can't even make it to the primaries with less than 1% int
