Deference- Once again I am not promoting a ban on guns. No, rather I am supporting a ban on a select few dangerous weapons. I'm not attacking you Sandy, and I think you are correct in regards to there being some limitations on armaments. Some gun proponents are worried about a "slippery slope" effect with these types of laws, however.

Secondly, you are deluded if you think the only reasons for the Iraq war were oil and WMD. I am as a rule anti-war, but realize that, if we are to go about it, we need to be dedicated to winning the conflict. No more Vietnams. Well now, wait a second. The reason we were given to enter Iraq a second time was because we were told that we must urgently act NOW to keep Saddam from using weapons

I just have to add to this. Deaths involving cars are many times more the frequency than those by guns, but no person is advocating the ban of automobiles. As for us being a gun-centrist country, gun ownership is about the same as those who smoke cigarettes (22%). Only a minority of the populace is an actual gun owner. The fact that we still retain this right is a tribute to Americans who believe that if you take guns away from the people only crim

However, ignoring the accusations by his fellow veterans, and the statement of a medical officer saying that one his wounds was self-inflicted, what if they were completely and utterly earned. All that that means is that Kerry has thrice won the "enemy marksmanship award," and that he's bad at ducking. I want to know about his other awards, and did he earn them?<

How embarressing, the sinking of the Lusitania actually occurred May 7, 1915, which is what prompted American intervention in the first world war because the Germans (correctly) guessed that we were sending military supplies to our allies, the Brits. . Also, as you may know, this war was actually kickstarted by the assassination Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand by a group of organized serbian terror

I believe it is important to make the distinction between who wanted to go to war. In many cases, the American people couldn't have cared less about getting involved in most of these conflicts. Bosnians and Serbs? Who cares? The Clinton Administration did, but I don't think the American public had any interest. It is important to note the subtle difference, I'll go through some of the wars listed:

Awww, Kripes, Daiwa, have you even read my submission in post #43 ? I would very much like your input / reaction to that post.

Wow! Great link, and from Newsweek no less (U.S.News&World Report always seemed a little bit more conservative, so I liked to read them) but when did they hire on Isikoff and Hosenball! You've got me there, Muu. Now I really need to see the film to see what Moore screwed up on.

I give reference to this twice Repley 10 and 30, You just can't ignor what he says in his movies because you didn't go to see it. He uses that media more then anyother to make his point and money. Believe me, I wasn't about to ignore anything from the films, I'll entertain those quotes too (hence, the "send me searching" part). Which part in your posts are you seeking to address? I'm willi

Did they ever say they served on the same exact crew as John Kerry? When they said they served, they might have meant they served with John Kerry in the same area. Michael Moore does things like that all the time, and Kerry isn't obligated to condemn him for it. As you very well know, they slyly did not specify, but their implication to the American People were very clear, as any fair minded person might ascertain unless they are two I.

That was what bugged me about the 2000 election. McCain was one of the few major party candidates I could back. I didn't agree with every issue of his, but he seemed informed, intelligent, and most of all, to be one of the last bastions of "small government" Republicans (remember those?). Most libertarians defected from the Republican party when the party STOPPED being those things. Yeah! What happened to the party? Did we just get a

In case you haven't read this bit, it shines light on the S.B.V.T. organization and addresses their arguments honestly and openly, please read thoroughly before judging. There is a media storm circling John Kerry and his service. Did he deserve his medals, did he serve honorably, and are the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (S.B.V.T.) living up to their name? The answer is as murky as the waters in the ‘Nam our Swiftboats (or Patrol Fast-Craft

Deference, you'll have to excuse me for continuing to be Dense also, but your case laid out above is still far from bullet-proof. Excuse me, I was asking an honest question of Messy Buu, I was requesting what the specific point he / she was getting at. As for the piece above being "bulletproof". It was not an attempt to prove anything. What exactly is your argument? That Kerry didn't earn his medals? I've answered that, and

Don't you think that being confident that he has released his full military records or that the RNC is funding SwiftVets or etc. aren't a convincing argument? A convincing argument for what? (you'll have to excuse me, sometimes I can be a bit dense)

53 Replies 18,075 Views

you might want to reconsider this statement after you check this out Part of the argument is that Kerry has not released his FULL military records, such as those pertaining to his physical fitness qualifications. Wank, wank. I'm certain that he has and this is just a corner for the SwiftVets to catch

I'm preparing a small piece on the S.B.V.T. debacle, something I hope will clear the air a little and save you all the time of researching it yourselves, I will provide references / sources so that you will be able to discern the truth for yourselves. I hope you will enjoy, stay tuned as I'll submit it late tonight or sometime tomorrow. Let us all be vigilant in the search for truth in an era of disinformation.

I'm aware of Moore's more sensational line of questioning, I'd prefer to read his books than watch his films which I believe to be technically poor in execution. I'd like to remind both of you gentleman of my prior post near the top (post # 3). I'm no flower - flinging liberal. Remember, these folks have done meticulous research, and provided fact after fact to prove their claims - even if some of their facts are only "eye-witness" acco

Micheal Moore may not be lying but he is not telling the full truth either. The next time you watch that movie of half truths and incomplete interviews you will hear him say "that only one member of congress has an enlisted son or daughter presently in the military". Over 15 others have had children serve as enlisted in the past and another 36 presently have children that are officers presently in service. I guess that having your children serving,

Yes, the swiftvets are lying, that is the reason as to why many have asked for Bush to denounce them and why even Republicans are a bit miffed that such folk are making them look bad ( see, once again, Mcain ). As for Moore, he has been on his anti-Republican march since the early 90's. His first independant film was Roger and Me, wherein he attacked big business. He has also written numerous books, Dude Where's My Country and Stupid White Men, to n

The GOP has as much indirect financial stake as the DNC does in MoveOn.org You can't possibly say otherwise, even though you have tried above. A "prominent" GOP donor helped to fund the Swiftvets group. That is confirmed and acknowledged. But it is just as obvious that Michael Moore and others that have contributed to the DNC (oh, wait, does he not admit to giving money to them?!?! Was it just lip service, and can't be con
