Um..no. I think the main issue here is the problem of the U.S. Government's debt. This is because we (the U.S. Govt.) are spending too much money on government institutions and programs than what is brought in via tax dollars. The big problem behind this is that we end up having to borrow money from other countries or from ourselves. This weakens the amount the common U.S. dollar is worth as certain interest rates climb. This leads to in

So, I guess that the Swift Boat's attacks on Kerry are completely unrelated to Bush, since they're about Kerry and not Bush, and obviously the alternative to Kerry is somebody other than Bush, such as Nader. Messy Buu, your tit-for-tat logic is growing a bit long in the tooth, wouldn't you say? Hay Defernce Check this report out its a good read for both sides, in many Democrats party execs minds anybody but Bush do
We don't need to raise taxes (though we should roll back a few of the tax breaks, ahem!) but we do need to cut the pork! Most "pork-barrel" spending comes in the forms of representatives and senators securing government funds for ballparks, airports, and research projects whose main questions are things like "Why does spilled coffee create imperfect rings?" We almost balanced the budget in the '90's and were starting to pay down the debt. Now we're
The *real* bullshit is all the "We're not telling people to vote for Kerry, we're just telling them to vote against Bush". Look at Moore, and MoveON, and the new concert tour. This is hundreds of millions of dollars of under-the-table advertising for Kerry. I'd find that to be in refute. After all, anyone but Bush includes Nader, which would hurt Kerry, correct? I don't quite grasp the goo
I'd say that most ganga freaks are more likely to vote democrat than republican. Though Clinton supported the war on drugs, there was a greater feeling that he was much more sympathetic to "the cause". This feeling became more pervasive during the liberal '90's and many states and towns had grassroots (no pun intended) campaigns to decriminalize marijuana. Those same organizations are now feeling quite a bit more heat under the weight of the current
I hope this joke hasn't gotten old already, but I haven't heard anyone talk about it here, yet, so I thought I'd give the heads up.
This is a fun little jab. Go to www.google.com In the search box, type in "weapons of mass destruction" then click "I'm feeling lucky" I think you'll find it amusing as to what you see (all the links shown are clickable, btw).
When it rains it pours, and I know a few Patrol Craft-Fasts that are getting stormed on: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/bush_swift_boats
Let us see...how does Bush expect to win...hmmm.... Really it boils down to how many registered voters actually come out and vote. Because Bush is the incumbent, he should be able to rely on about the same number of people to come back out and support him. It is Kerry's charge that he overcome those numbers. Whether or not he will be able to do so is what makes this election hard to call. So far, the Bush admin. has been able to slow Kerry
Of all the hot air blown by S.B.V.T. or Not So Swift Not All really Vets for distruth (as I like to refer to them) the only thing the've managed to come up with that halfway sticks is that Kerry pushed for a Purple heart while sustaining little damage. End of story. There's nothing else to them, it's time to, um, move on. Keep clinging on, it's only gonna' get worse for S.B.V.T. . More fun here: http://story.news.yahoo.com
Great info SSG!
Now that the Swift Vets are starting to wash out, of course B&C supporters would like bygones to be bygones... (ed. note - deference will be at the St. Louis Arch this Tue. at 4:20 kissing both Republican and Democrat butt whilst asking for forgiveness for being a complete smartass and know-it-all, thank you)
Very true, Sandy. I think our society has objectified women to such an extreme that it has become morally abhorrent and porn is just one small piece of that. The main point in my prior post is that I don't believe the framers of the constitution necessarily had porn in mind when they spelled out the first amendment, much the same as they didn't think of rocket launchers when they crafted the second.
Honestly folks, They are both politicians and veterans. NO ONE GIVES A SHIT! ...at least not anymore, now that some of us know the real "truth".
We see what happened to the British after registration, the government then rounded up everyone's weapons and confiscated them. We already nearly have registration with the sheet any potential gun owner must fill out when buying a gun. I think that is just enough - for both sides.
This is the third forum that has sprouted up supporting S.B.V.T. .This is a tiresome duty knocking down houses of cards attempting to be built in shadows. It is illustrative of how powerful propaganda and the repeating of a lie can be. In fact, it is difficult to argue that the group is lying as they have offered almost no actual "truth" or accusation besides the fact that they feel Kerry acted dishonourably by coming home fr
Anyone who condemns Swiftvets is a hypocrite unless they have equal condemnation for moveon.org and other similar left-wing groups People don't have the freedom to pick and choose, eh? If you don't condemn one you can't condemn the other? Limiting freedom is costly and clumsy, particularly when apples and oranges are involved.
Kerry would really help himself out if he would make his position clear on the Patriot Act. He has said that he would rescind parts of it but has yet to state which parts. If he could take away the invasive and overly broad powers the government has given itself and restore us to our prior state I think he would pick up some points. The only way Bush has ever made "headway" with his plans on protecting us
Whoops!
Pornography is not covered by the right to free speach, however it is covered by the right to the pursuit of happiness. Nowhere in any of the amendments that make up the Bill of Rights are we guranteed the right to the pursuit of happiness. This is a common public misnomer. That statement actually comes from the Declaration of Independence. "We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all men are created e
I think you've been doing well here on the boards, Daiwa, and it is important for other sets of eyes to go over these sources. Remind me that I owe you that favour sometime when you need it. The sources from disinfopedia are the real bedrock (they contain foonotes to specific newspapers, etc.), too bad I didn't cite them, eh? I was astonished that there was soo much material regarding this and the people involved. It would have taken me a few weeks
I sometimes wonder about the illusion of choice. Despite Bush and Kerry's pandering to their own respective bases, neither one seems truly able to provide policy that backs their talk. This holds true for many of our past presidents as well. Some claim Clinton to be the best republican president we ever had in regards to his failure to meet his high talk on environmental (emission standards) issues, women'
Good post. Props. (or something mid-90's like that...)
The fourth amendment protects people from illegal search and seizure. Before the Patriot Act, if a spook or the local police wanted to snoop, they had to go before a judge and offer evidence or good reason to do so. If the judge found this to be of merit, he could issue a warrant or a judges order authorizing those individuals to commit certain acts of surveillance (tapping your phone, searching your home, etc.). The individual also had to be notifi
Holy crap, deference, how about a link instead of hijacking the comment space? Sorry, SPC NBS, had to jump in there... I apologize buddy, but I have posted my little rant in two other forums on this site and I'm still seeing this same issue pop up. SPC does have a different angle, but I must rebutt the similar incorrect content.
