POST SITE PROBLEMS HERE

I am seeing a bunch of hit and miss posts about issues that people are having.  However, it is impossible for the web programmers to find the reports in this fashion.  Though Cordelia can relay the messages, she can't actually fix the issues (as can none of us expect the web team).

So, please post your issues here.  *BUT*, when you do, make sure that you are giving every detail possible.  A "this site is acting odd" report will get us nowhere.  Post when, where, and how the problem occurred.  Also let us know what browser you are using and if you have already tried cleaning your cookies.  Reproducible issues are easiest to track (with info on how to reproduce them) so, please try to reproduce the issue prior to reporting it.

Please remember that the more info you provide, the more likely it can be fixed.

I am having a serious problem with being able to edit or delete comments to my articles. I write a comment to one of my own articles and I can not edit it (I get an error screen every time, a joeuser error screen) and there is no link to delete a comment.

Anyone else having this issue??

I posted an article and I find that there are multiple copies on the board. The program window showed that it was not able to process the page and I reposted it. I now find 8 copies of the same post.

Just curious as to how much longer could it be before I can access my blog. I keep getting the "JU is still under maintanence" message. Just wondering, no rush.

I cannot access my blog. Though the other parts like Forums and Home is accesible.

I have a friend who's been trying to access the forums for about two weeks now, but can't get in. Her name is Lynne. She is registered, and was able to get into the "channels" and looka round a bit, but not the forums.
Beyond that, I can't really give any helpful details. Any pointers, though?

Karma or Draginol,

Could you be so kind to delete the older of the two articles I posted this morning on Zarqawi. There is something seriously wrong with the html code and its screwing up my who blog site. And I can't even get to the edit button to do it myself, either from the forums or my site. its wierd. Thanks...

I've been unable to get to most of my major articles for the past week. I can get to the first section, no problem, but trying to access the list of my articles, or go to the "next" section invariably brings up an error message screen. http://philosborn.joeuser.com/

If I use the "more" option on the "Top Articles" section to the right side of the main screen, I can get to a few more articles, but still several of them return the error screen.. "An error has occurred while processing the page."

Fortunately, Google has archived the missing pages, but then the problem becomes where to put them, as they typically run close to the limit of 100K that I've discovered for JoeUser posts, and yahoo's notepad cannot handle that. I get on line via the library, so this means sticking them on a flash media - my MP3 player or my Mattel camera, with its 1Gig card. Worst, all this takes great blocks of time away from doing any useful writing.

I have been trying to add a new section heading to my blog. I am following instructions, but nothing appears. I refresh the page and nothing appears.

Thanks for the help.

Are RSS feeds not updating, or is there something I need to do? I've been noticing that I've been stuck back at June 6th for a while. Thanks for any info.

Anybody? If it is a caching thing I wouldn't mind if it updated once a day or even once a week. I like the RSS, though, and I hope it hasn't been abandoned.

Perhaps a little off topic, but I didn't know where else to post.

There are a number of advertisements for mortgage websites popping up as blog articles, advertising for Michigan and Massachusetts mortgages, loans, refinance loans, and auto insurance. They also appear to be commenting on their own articles to make them look more legitimate to the community. These users are creating number of different IDs for this purpose.

Just thought you should be aware of this.

Sidebar is again failing to update. Recent articles section is not updating at all (you can click the "more" link and see the recent articles, but the sidebar itself isn't updating).

What do I have to do - what steps do I take to get an email informing me of a comment made on one of my blogs? Is there a particular program I have to buy to get this feature? Also how do I track a specific blog, is there some way of putting it under a favorite listing to get to it easily instead of having to go through all the motions to find it again? You help in the aforementioned would really be appreciated.
thanks

Hi guys! There seem to be a repitive posting of some articles going on. I'm trying to read at leisure and make my responses but I'm coming across articles that have been posted, like at least 8 times! I go to the next page and there are some posted at least two or three times. Can this be fixed? Thank you so much!

Now I rest my weary eyes.

I have an opinion....on the new format. It sucks! It's very slow to load, even with broadband. Once it does show then you have to wait to be able to do anything with it including scrolling down or trying to reply.

IMHO it's also not very user friendly and difficult to navigate. This is just my view. Do what you will with it.

I can't log into JU normally. I could only access the forums and that was a fete in itself getting there. Are you guys updating or something?
I can't access the actual blog pages or the joeuser.com login - I just get error messages. I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.7 for Mac. It's a bit irritating because in Safari I can't write anything because the textboxes don't appear. So I can't create articles except through the forum, which more often than not works. Could this be due to stupid error on my behalf?

I am unable to post comments from the forums or from the front page.  If I go to the individual blog site, then I am able to post comments.  I'm not even able to post comments on my own blog from the forums or front page, only from my specific blog site.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mike

I'm having problems creating a blog group. I want to set one up as the JU Writers Club and I keep getting the following message every time I try.

JoeUser.com is undergoing some changes to it's database. Please try back again soon

I also get the occasional message that says I don't have administration priveleges to do the task. This can't be right either, can it?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Ignore this - problem solved itself.

There's an attack underway, and has been going on for some time. The posts are coming sometimes more than one a minute. I know it creates overhead to log IP addies to posts even temporarily, but couldn't we have a bit of flood control?

Maybe log, say, the last 20 IPs responsible for inserts and if they are both anonymous and are more numerous than, like 5 in an hour block the insert? I think you can fake referrer stuff to the point that it is pretty much futile to try and make sure it is coming from the real form and not a script. I guess if they are successfully spoofing IPs that wouldn't work.

My solution is to close the site to anonymous posts altogether, but then we've been over that and I don't want to beat a dead horse. This is a pain for you as much as it is for us, though. What they are doing is a bone fide attack, and illegal. I wish there was some way to get them in some sort of trouble.
