POST SITE PROBLEMS HERE

I am seeing a bunch of hit and miss posts about issues that people are having.  However, it is impossible for the web programmers to find the reports in this fashion.  Though Cordelia can relay the messages, she can't actually fix the issues (as can none of us expect the web team).

So, please post your issues here.  *BUT*, when you do, make sure that you are giving every detail possible.  A "this site is acting odd" report will get us nowhere.  Post when, where, and how the problem occurred.  Also let us know what browser you are using and if you have already tried cleaning your cookies.  Reproducible issues are easiest to track (with info on how to reproduce them) so, please try to reproduce the issue prior to reporting it.

Please remember that the more info you provide, the more likely it can be fixed.

...or, dare I suggest it, give someone who is here more often the mojo to stop something like this. Not me, but someone who comes here often during Stardock holiday breaks nonetheless.

Still going on. Four hours or more now. Saw a rep look in, I guess then didn't have the privs to do anything.

There seems to be a problem with a script when trying to post a new blog article. I know others are also seeing it. When I try to write a new article the new article page starts to load and then hangs. I get a pop up message about a stalled script with the option to stop the script or to continue and see if the script completes.

If I choose to continue it still just hangs and the script never completes. If I choose to stop the script the page loads and shows everything but I am unable to select a category for the article. It shows the categories but they aren't clickable.

Still having the problem of being logged out of JU when switching within SDC from JU to Object Desktop - I have to log back in when I come back to JU. Also, after being logged in to JU (in SDC), I will often be required to log in again when I navigate to the forums. Once logged in to SDC, seems you should be, and remain, logged in to everything. Hope that will be the case with Impulse!

The Enter key is non-functional for me in the Add A Reply box in the forums when logged in through SDC. I have to do up a reply in Notepad & paste it in to get carriage returns. The Enter key works fine when accessing JU via IE6 and the forum login problem mentioned in my post #201 does not occur when accessing JU via IE6.

I'm having a hard time creating new articles. The screen takes a very long time, more than 5 mins, to give me access to start writing. When I think that I can now write, I can't move the cursor up or down the screen and clicking to write in the Title box, I get the same thing - nothing, just a "waiting to access www.http:wellness-serenity......can't remember the rest. I'm on my home computer now, but it happens when I'm not on my home computer as well.

And I'm having a hard time waiting to view/read anything on the site.

So glad I finally found this to write something!

I'm getting something like this.  HUGE LAG when I go to the new article page.

I mentioned this in a reply in another article here, but I'll bring it up here too -- the formatting is completely bogus when you bring up JU via Internet Explorer 7.

I can't speak of IE6, but things are fine in FireFox. Normally I'd be browsing here using IE7, but lately I'm forced to use Firefox since the sidebar shows up at the bottom of the list of recent articles rather than on the side as it should.

Apologies if I'm missing previous comments noting this, but I'm curious too when we'll see a way to see more than just 6 top blogs and such?

I had this happen once earlier today with IE6 - thought it was a fluke, now not so sure. Can't recall if was in Articles or Forum, though latter is my usual hangout.

Can we get a list of html tags that we can not use in our blogs and responses? Without the list, it's hard to tell if something is broken or just not allowed :)

As an example, I wanted to post a chess match I played in a blog response. A different site generates this from what is known as a pgn file, then they generate the link you need to include in your blog. You put it in much like you'd put in a youtube video.

The code for the game was in an iframe tag, and so I immediately imagined that iframes weren't supported in JU2. Confirmation or is it just not working?

I tried a different method using javascript, but that didn't work either. Figured it was worth a try.

Have a request: It would be really helpful to get the navigation bar (Home > XXXX > XXXX) back at the top on the Forums home page - it's on all the other forum pages, just not that one.

I have just about got a handle on everything else...knock on wood...but how do you print an aritcle? Without using the toolbar at the top of the page...which then will print pages worth of stuff. The old system had a print icon right in the article's window, is that not possible anymore? If not, what is the procedure?

Good news, I was able to post something! I see the message is different on my screen when I'm waiting, thx! I'm still a bit slow so I'll clear my cookies and see if that helps. It's difficult loading, takes a while and even my key board is acting like those martial arts movies I love!LOL! [you hear the speech long before/after the lips are moving!] In other words, I'm typing and my keyboard is still on the first letter while I'm blasting away! I don't have a fancy keyboard so I don't think it's my keyboard. I'll log off and clear cookies and try again later! Thx for keeping up you guys, great work! :)

We're aware of speed/lag issues with the post editor and are looking into what's causing them and how to fix it.

When I click on "my replies" it won't go anywhere. The page simply refreshes itself. I know I posted this on a different article, but due to the fact that I don't know which ones I've replied to, I can't remember which one it was.

Thanks for any help.

Also, I can't comment on articles. I can go to the forums and comments, but not even a cursor shows up when I go to the articles on someone besides my own blog sites.

That sentence was poorly worded. Sorry.

Ran into an interesting error submitting Reply #213 above. Got the following error message after clicking the Submit Reply button: The reply posted without problem (I could see it behind the error message) but when I hit the OK button on the error message I was taken to a Page Not Found error page. The Enter button still does not work in the Reply box when posting from within SDC which is why the formatting is strange here. Doesn't work in the Edit Reply box, either. Strangely, didn't get the error posting this reply.

I haven't read all the reponse so forgive me if I'm repeating....I set up Windows Live, thanks to your instructions, it was easy! (Mike) I posted from it today, it was great, really easy, the only thing is my publishing the post went right into Personal Computing!  So there I was srambling trying to find the edit button before some irage geek grab a hold of me thinking I did it deliberately...whew!  I managed to switch it to the correct one!  So, how do I stop that from happening again?

Mine too!  And I only see my articles up to December 23 of last year.  Usually on the Forums I can see them all when I check.   If they're still there but not yet available, don't worry, I just want to know they are not lost.

Oh and each time I go to the Forums, I can't comment on anyone's thread.

That's interesting...I can't comment when I go to the blog sites themselves. The forums work fine, but for some reason there's not even a cursor when I try to comment on the original articles.

I hope that made sense...

Hello, Karma -

The Insert Link dialog is jumping all the way up to the top left corner of the webpage when you click on the Insert Link button while typing in the Add A Reply box.

The Insert Image dialog does the same thing.

XPP SP2 with all updates to date. FF 2.0.0.12 (with Colorful Tabs add-in & FF set to always show the tab).

Thanks.

I went to send a private message.  Clicked on "new message" and nothing happens.

The site is so slow it often times out.

The forums of JU, while faster than they used to be (sometimes), are still significantly slower than either the WinCustomize or GalCivII forums. Now, I'm thinking it's not my machine or connection, since they are three forums from the same company, but still . . . :NOTSURE:

Oh, I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.14 (or is it 13? The lastest build) as my primary web-browser (except for when I want to post a new article, since the 'rich text' editor can't get to my clipboard in FF still . . .)
