POST SITE PROBLEMS HERE

I am seeing a bunch of hit and miss posts about issues that people are having.  However, it is impossible for the web programmers to find the reports in this fashion.  Though Cordelia can relay the messages, she can't actually fix the issues (as can none of us expect the web team).

So, please post your issues here.  *BUT*, when you do, make sure that you are giving every detail possible.  A "this site is acting odd" report will get us nowhere.  Post when, where, and how the problem occurred.  Also let us know what browser you are using and if you have already tried cleaning your cookies.  Reproducible issues are easiest to track (with info on how to reproduce them) so, please try to reproduce the issue prior to reporting it.

Please remember that the more info you provide, the more likely it can be fixed.

Well Karma we're back to this again. When trying to post a trolling or an insightful, we get this message
"An error has occurred while processing the page."

Yup, same problem here.

I wish I could get credit for the approximately 15 - 21 that I've missed for a certain poster

I wonder if KarmaGirl is ever going to read these.

I'm trying to find anything which resembles a help file or even basic "howto" info for JoeUser features. I notice a lot of folks have a custom blogroll on their blogs, labeled "My Favorites" - how do I set one of those up? I find no button, no link, no "add favorites" anywhere I look. I've tried looking at every link on my own blog, on my profile, on the profiles of people who I'd like to add to the blogroll, all to no avail.

So, um, how do I add a "my favorites" area on my new JoeUser blog?

Looks like indexes are having issues again. Forum posts and other information in sidebars regarding new posts, etc., not updating.

Currently (20th January, 11:00 AM Dublin time) JU looks right in Firefox on Windows again. What changed?

There's no actual help for JoeUser is there? No FAQ, no documentation, no support links...

So, anyone want to let me in on the secret way to create a "favorites" blogroll?

Side bars not updating again... scheduled process broken maybe? (Meaning the recent forum posts, newest articles section isn't updating automatically)

What terp said. The sidebars -- i.e., Newest Articles, Latest Forum Posts -- on all sites, including www.joeuser.com, are not updating.

It's really a bummer since that's what I depend on to surf JoeUser by. (The forum pages choke my aging computer.)

No, there are no official instructions.

To add favorites:

1) Follow this link: http://andysocial.joeuser.com/myAccount.asp
2) Under "Select Site & Option To Edit:" select the radio button for "Manage Site Custom Links" (it should be the last one in the list).
3) Press edit.

That'll take you to the page where you can edit the custom links.

OK, I've done that (although the option seems to appear and disappear at random). The links don't actually appear on my page, though. Is there another step to activate them, or should I wait some time (more than 4 hours so far) and hope they show up?

There are no other steps, but there is a delay. JU recently started caching the sidebar results, so you have to wait till the cache expires for changes to show up.

After 4+ hours they should have been there.

I'm going to make a guess and say the sitewide sidebar issue terpfan and I were reporting is affecting the favorites lists as well. (I'm further going to guess it's a caching issue.)

Probably the only thing you can do is wait for them to fix that. Sorry.

(P.S. I just tried adding a link. I also looked at some people's mainpages to see if their personal "Recent Articles" were updating. They weren't. I'm pretty sure the whole sidebar update thing is temporarily broken. As soon as that's resolved, your links should appear.)

Thanks, all. At least I'm not losing my mind (or this is not confirmation of it anyway).

Here's one, and this time I was very careful about it. I posted a blog, and specifically un-checked "post in Forums". yet when I looked it was. I think it is out now, but I am not to sure. Can T-Man check on it? The title is "A Bitch of a day, A vindication, No recognition". The AID is 100304.

Hope you are still reading this one!

None of my posts have shown up on my blog page since October. Even though I've checked the box on most of them to make them articles. They show up as forum posts, but never as articles.

You post in the forums for the most part. I wonder if that is a link? Just as a test, post one from the joeuser home page and see if that one shows up.

Yes, I think that might the problem also. Apparently the publish this as an article checkbox doesn't work.
