Hi guys. I'm completely lost. How do I install this? I have ObjectDock installed but I see nothing for downloading and using the WindowsBlinds 10 beta. Help, please.

WindowBlinds 10 beta is available for active Object Desktop members not ObjectDock.

$50 to beta test?

Access to the Beta plus a series of programs that purchased separately would cost far more. Plus free upgrades for a year and......a discount on renewals. How can you beat that.

oh phooey, $50 to beta test? Pass.
Really?? If you can't do the math provided by Uvah above... -I think the Beta test will be sufficiant anyway.

Let me add one more thing to this. So you would like to use WindowBlinds but don't want to pay the $49.99 for ObjectDesktiop. Well on Windows 10 you can't use WindowBlinds without Start10. So now you will have two things to purchase which are included in ObjectDesktop. Also any betas would be available to you and free upgrads for a year as mentioned many times here.

So the choice is yours. If you want to stay with the Win 10 look help yourself. There is only one real way to make win10 look good, cool or whatever you wish to call it and that is to get and use the programs Stardock has available.

I need to clarity something here.  You can use WB10 without Start10.  Likewise you can use Start10 without WB.  If you have Start10 then WB will skin the start menu, but that's because the OS one is not designed to be skinned unlike the Start10 menu.

Thank you Neil for clearing me up. I did know start10 will only skin the startmenu. I didn't realize that without it WindowBlinds would still skin the start menu. I still believe its better for me to use both as it does give me the exact look I want.

Think what bothers me is all the post about people bitching about not being able to get WindowBlinds beta, when if fact it has been since December. One just needs ObjectDesktop which also includes so much more. Also as Uvah has said free updates for a year.

No, WB10 will not skin any menus without Start10.  ONLY the Start10 menu can be skinned by WindowBlinds 10 on Windows 10.

So basically you do need both to get as close to the Windows 7 look as you can. Sounds good to me and I use both so no problem here. For the first beta it actually works well.

Not to forget "OldNewExplorer" to get rid of the "white" parts

I get this error with firefox:

http://imgur.com/Vkc9SAf

Only happens when I switch tabs, or open a new tab. Clicking on minimize button seems to make it go away temporary. Excluding firefox in windowsblinds does nothing. It only occurs with windowsblinds installed!

thanks

Which OS are you using?

I was unable to reproduce this on Windows 10 with the latest Firefox build.

Please do not exclude firefox.  Doing so may well trigger such problems!

Why Beta version is not available for Windowblinds 8 users?

I purchased Windowblinds 7, windoblinds 8, Start 8 ,start 10, Skin Studio 8 etc.

Why should i buy those apps again in one package, named Oject Desktop for $49.99 ???

As a loyal customer , also I deserve to meet new products, earlier than those who never bought nothing..

You need to be a subscriber to gain access to the Beta. Buying the apps separately cost more than buying the whole package.

WindowBlinds beta is only available to ObjectDesktop subscribers. Should I add any beta.

When you purchase a stand alone product any updates are only available for 30 days after purchase. So at this point if you want WindowBlinds you are going to have to wait till it's out of beta and purchase it.

If you purchase ObjectDesktop now you would get the WindowBlinds beta which works very well actually on Windows 10. No other way to get it right now. Also you receive any updates for one year on any programs that are included in ObjectDesktop such as start 10, Skinstudio 10, and others..

No sense in complaining about it. This is the way it has been for years so it's your decision.

Most of the text on the control panel is white with the background of the control panel in win 10. This happens with all of the skins that I have tried except for perfection. However other skins tend to want to bleed into other programs like icedragon (mozillia firefox clone) and skype with even being on the exclusions list with the more I try to edit the skins. Here is the text hiding (yes I like transparency)....

And here is the text with mouseover.

So as you can see the faint blue is barely showing. If someone could either tell me if this is a hopeful update to be fixed or how to fix this problem I would be such a happy noob... Thanks for your attention...

The only theme that actually skins everything is Dark Agility .... as far as I know, it is the only dark kin that works great with Windows 10 .... so far.

This is a known issue on Windows 10 with the December build of WB10.  Later internal builds have been adjusted to resolve this problem.  I have been pushing for a beta update and am unsure what the delay is right now.

Yay I am not such a noob and I hope the update comes soon... as I really cannot stand looking at a bland windows 10 box all day... thanks for the qick response...

I don't know if anyone has helped you with this, but you can change where the "Public Documents" are located by right clicking the folder, choosing the tab which says 'location' and typing in whatever location you wish. I have my public documents folder on an external USB hard drive.

Perfection is my WB. I have to say I just tried 10 of my skins on Windows 10 Pro, 64 and everyone is working fine on the left side of the Control panel using win10. So to see if I could change it I went into SKS the Color section/ Control panel and changed the colors. They changed as they should have to whatever color I tried.

For anyone interest if you can use SKS, change the task Link Normal color to whatever you want and you will see the text on the left side of the control panel. Like wise if you want to change the Mouseover color use Task Link Mouseover.

"Later internal builds have been adjusted to resolve this problem. "

I sure hope a color hasn't been hard coded  for this. You can still control the color of the left side of the Control Panel on other OS's. Need to be able to still change these colors as before in the color section, Task links. I see no problem here except for the fact some may use White text in that area all the time. It's not hard to open SKS and change this color.

Note: I have found this problem with certain skins. Like Corporate, Diamond, and Lantana for example. But if you open them in SKS you can see the Task Link normal color is set to White.

Not a real biggie, but I can't seem to get the WB icon in the system tray/notification area.  The check box for that option in settings doesn't "stick." Win10, latest WB10 version.
