Latest Google Chrome 49.0.2623.87 seems to be crazy broken

This was mentioned in another thread that I can't seem to find right now, but anyway Neil is aware of it and you can fix it for now by going into Chrome's advanced settings System section and unchecking "Use hardware acceleration when available."

Hi , I'm new to the forums and tried the trial version of windowblinds

I'm disappointed there is no feature to get a custom background for explorer window or am'I missing something ( I know it was possible with previous release )

This is not an option on Windows 10 but should remain an option on Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1.  Unfortunately Microsoft changed the OS in such a way as to make this feature not work correctly on Windows 10.

Should bugs occurring in the release be reported here?

I encountered a bug where explorer.exe started using up 100% of 1 core 10-12 hours after I had switched to a skin (Scarlet), and a bunch of pixels in the top left corner (roughly above the left edge of the address bar is in explorer) kept flickering in/out of existence. Had to switch to a different skin after killing/restarting explorer.exe (the issue persisted) to 'fix'. Atm I don't have any further clues/ideas about reproducability, will update if it recurs.

Additional issue: Firefox has by now crashed twice while trying to show a download window (to pick to open/save a file) since installing wb10 (on w10 x64 b1511), whereas it never did so before (without wb).

Firefox on Windows 10 draws its own titlebars which look like the Windows 10 ones but for reasons best known to them are not the standard ones. This means it conflicted with us trying to draw our own as they still have their fake buttons drawing and accepting mouse clicks. Unfortunately the only solution was to exclude those windows.

Very odd that when I launch Firefox, it starts with a fully skinned app window and then reverts to an unskinned, naked thing.  If it's working at first, why not continue to work?  Just curious.

re: Firefox

There are many applications that draw their own caption bars. Basically they create a borderless form without a non-client area and fake their own non-client area in the normal client area of the form. This is standard practice these days for developers who want to add functionality to the caption bar of a program but don't want to muck about with all the WM_NCPAINT stuff.

Just sayin'

One thing I immediately noticed upon enabling Windowblinds 10: it drastically reduces the smoothness of the desktop rendering.

I have a 144Hz LCD (kept at 120Hz most of the time), and moving windows around is super smooth.  If I enable Windowblinds 10, the movement of windows becomes quite stuttery.

I value the smoothness much more than I value the customization, so for the moment, I've switched back to the Windows default theme.
