I'll probably name mine after my wife.  

I might not tell her for a while though. $100.00 doesn't exactly show up on the radar, but she might not like that I bought something that doesn't exist yet.    

Maybe I'll let her know when the alpha is out.

After further review I think I will name my star  "LV 42"  That way I hope it shows up in a 6 planet system so the sixth planet is "LV 426" After the Alien series

I'm going to name my stars after places from my two favorite TV shows right now - Winterfell (Game of Thrones and seat of power of House Stark) and Albuquerque (Breaking Bad).

Wow, quite a few more vanity names than I expected to see.  Wouldn't you rather pick out stuff that other folks would have fun finding?

"Solaris" needs to be in the game.  Stanislaw Lem and Asimov are both authors I like and both used the planet name.  It's shown up in a lot of other SF stories, too.  Come to think of it, I might have seen it in Gal Civ 2... will they tell us if the name is already on the list?

Nirn would be good if Bethesda doesn't mind.

It is going to be either something similar to my name, or to one of my nicknames I am normaly using

but other names have come to mind too, I guess I will worry about it when I have to

Omicron Persei, perhaps, however it needs at least 8 planets.

There's the standard punny ones, lucky(star), outlaw(star), hip(star), bucks(star), David, and my personal favourite, Chest-Bur star. And Far works on a couple of levels.

But I think naming them after yourself or something important to you is nice.

And I think we should avoid ones that spoil the aesthetic of the game.



But I think my personal choice will have to be Fourecks.
